With a macstrut suspension, the angle of the strut relative to vertical is the caster angle. Put a magnetic digital level on the side of your strut tube. It'll likely measure around 84* on your car (meaning 90-84 = 6* of caster).

Alignment, camber issues
My car has a 4 inch lift by SJR and the rear wheels now have too much camber,,,is there any way to adjust camber on the rear with a lift kit on it? also the car pulls to the right, and I am wondering more about the diy approach to that one...Thanks~

advice on alignment issues
Aloha Guys! I recently bought a 2004 sti with a recon title and have been fixing it up. I took it in for alignment and found that the rear driver side was off, causing a slight occasional pull to the left. THe tech couldn't adjust the rear because of the stock tophats. Should I buy coil overs that are adjustable or just rear camber plates? Thanks for your help!

I reccommend coilovers (stance, bc, etc) that come w/ rear camber plates, it makes adjusting them easy as hell compared to camber bolts (which requires taking the wheels on/off) |

Does anybody happen to know the length of an OEM 2003 wrx sedan trailing arm? My searching only finds wagon posts.

would not having the front end properly aligned cause the steering wheel to shutter while braking? It will not shutter at lower speeds but at 78 and above it shutters...
I just put on new 4 Calipers, pads, and rotors... sooo 07 WRX TR Limited. |

I adjusted the front camber on my mom's 2010 Impreza OBS, the tires were wearing significantly on the inner edges so turned the camber bolts out a few marks. Will keep an eye on and adjust as necessary. The tires are shot so it's pretty much a stop gap measure until new tires and alignment.

Have you check the balls joints, the control arm bushings? Usually when you get juttering/shaking while braking it is a warped rotor. but if you have just changed them and they are still shaking while braking...i would check for something loose on your front end. Good Luck bro

Nice write up. I will use this in the future! I live on a paved road that has lots of frost heaves. I need to stiffen the suspension up some as the car bottoms out too easy.

I just had a short block replacement on my 11 Fozzy just got it back yesterday and I noticed that it's pulling pretty hard to the right after the swap. Do they usually mess with suspension or steering to pull an engine?
Just want to know before I go blame the dealership for screwing up the alignment. |
