Indeed, time to start getting ready for it.

If you're new or forgot. . . We head up to Greenwater each year to collect xmas trees as a group. We'll meet up at the Mikky Ds in Enumclaw at 09:00, planning on leaving by 09:30 to head up to the snow. (hoping for snow)

What to bring:
*Food, for themselves
*Firewood, for the group. If you wish to purchase a bundle of wood. This can be done @ the Greenwater store or most of the convenience type stores along Hwy410.
*Water, for themselves and group
*BYOB
*Clothes for wet or cold
*Shovel for digging out of the snow
*Saw for cutting down tree. The Forest Service recommends hand saws.
*Tree permits will be available @ the Ranger station down the road. $10.00
*Snow tires & chains. These are technically required to be in the vehicle at all times. They have issued tickets in the past. Our groups have not been checked. Play this how you choose.
*And most importantly... the willingness to have a fun time.

What to leave at home:
Any and all asshattery. Driving foolishly will most definitely get you called out in front of the whole group.

Well then. . . The whole don't ask don't mention it made me quit ckecking a while ago.

Still, this isn't really a cruise, though folks joining us can call their travels whatever they like. When we leave Mikky Ds, we do it a s a group, sometimes more than one group depending on just how many join. Technically we do a "cruise" that is very speed controlled to get to the staging area up in the snow. We've had as few as 4 in the early days to about 30 cars meet up with us.

Ban or no, please no asshattery.

Kerbump. This is a good time, come up and join us. You don't need to be getting a tree to attend.

Looks like a fun time. Missed this last year, but should be able to make this one. Come on snow.

We have a blast every year, this is our 13th? annual run. The worst thing that can happen is that you get stuck in the snow.
We'll have 4-6 full on 4Xs to act as recovery vehicles as well as rides for those who want to go higher up to look for better spots to find a tree. The snow tends to get deeper as you get higher up the forest service roads.

And yeah, come on snow!!

I'm stoked too, my truck's all locked up. Hoping for snow deep enough to make it worth driving it so far.

Nice. I'm gonna drive the new imp so the family can ride along. I wheeled the truck pretty good two weekends ago, got that out of my system.

So you can probably pull me out this time.

Will a standard no lift 97 Legacy Outback make it up there? Currently on all seasons but can get the blizzaks mounted if needed.

They plow the roads up to the area we make into our basecamp. Then the snow gets deeper the higher you go after that. We usually go up in groups so that we can recover eachother if we get stuck.

I would mount the Blizzaks just to be safe, but you should be alright.

We pretty much require that all cars have snow tires or chains. There are at least two very sharp and usually icy corners that swallow up plenty of trucks each year and put them on their sides in the ditch. There is one 1/4 mile stretch of hill that stays icy and can really be tough to get up without snow tires.

Put on a set of Grabber AT2s tonight so the WRX will be a little more snow-worthy this Saturday.

We usually try to pack up before it gets dark, or about 4-4:30 or so.
