Default Access Port Button Relocation

I found a thread on IWSTi that shows a cobb access port being mounted in the clock pod only showing the screen.
http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2474709-post7.html

And he has the four buttons relocated to down where the ash tray would be. I sent him a PM and never got a response. Does anyone know how he did this? Did he have to dismantle the ap to do so?

When I do this, I might do a simple walk through for other people that are interested.

Definitely would have to dismantle the AP. It wouldn't be all that difficult to relocate stuff. You just have to figure out what is what and go from there. Once you know what wire is what button, you can extend it. Similar for the screen. For a power switch, you would just have to find out what pin on the USB cable provides power (I can't remember off the top of my head) and wire a switch into that. Conceptually it shouldn't be too difficult if you are careful about what the different things are and what you do to them.

Yeah I was figuring that I would have to crack it open and just solder a lead on to the original buttons.

I found how to wire the switch here:

I am planning on doing this and creating a write up... I guess I will have to get a camera that doesn't blow.
