Ive been told you can get by with the water pump i wasnt recomended it by any means oil pump was a bad ideal you may contaminate the block with old oil gunk debrease.

Timing belt i wouldnt even try to reuse it just sounds like trouble waiting to happen.

sorry guys, let me rephrase. i don't mean reusing parts. i mean, are the parts same? EJ205 water pump, belt. same as EJ257 water pump, belt.

"get by"? so they are not the same at all? as in, totally different parts with different part #?

I was going to use the wrx tension belt, and a new sti water pump far as i know they will work. Im not sure on the oil pump some say its the same item between wrx and sti ?

I changed my mind as im in no position to break another motor or tranny from all the displacement torque of a 257 beside i like what i have stg2 is just slow.

Water pump.. absolutely.
Oil pump... absolutely.
Timing belt... I don't know I bought a new one.

Actually... I bought new parts for all 3 above mentioned but I am sure of what I stated.
