Default 2005 wrx 2.5 hybrid vf34 makes 318whp 353wtq

A little backstory, my 2.0 blew up back in december and i replaced it with a brand new ej257 with wiseco pistons. Andrewtech did the motor work and turboXS did the tuning. All i can i say is my experience with these two shops was top notch. From planning, communication during the work to the end result, it was all great.

Event: Custom Tune/Dyno
Location: TurboXS Gaithersburg, MD

Ambient Temp: 45 degrees Fahrenheit
Elevation: ~100ft above sea level

Car: 2005 Subaru WRX

Tuner: TurboXS dyna-pack dyno
Peak HP at RPM: 318whp @ xxxxxRPM
Peak Torque at RPM: 353ft-lbs @ xxxxRPM
Target Boost:21psi peak
Fuel: 93 Octane

Engine/Power Modifications:

NEW ej257 block with nitride crank
Wiseco 99.5 mm pistons
stock 2.0 heads
vf34
IAG 38m ewg kit
GT-Spec EL header
killerb oil pick-up
sti oil pan, baffle etc
TurboXS fmic w/intake
Invidia catless Dp
Invidia n1 street cbe
565cc injectors
walbro 255 fp
TurboXS bpv

dyno pull (last pull)

Sorry no graph yet, will post up as soon as i get it from Jermaine

I'm super happy with the end result. The car pulls and feels amazing! The 2.5L is sooooo nice compared to the 2.0. btw, my 2.0 setup made 297whp and 331wtq.

Thats awesome! Im currently collecting parts for a vf39 swap on my 05 wrx but my friend told me about a guy who did a hybrid setup. Could your car support a larger turbo without much lag, even with the 2.0 heads? Possibly an 18g

gotta get that hp up hommie, unless you like more trq than hp. Stock heads......................combustion chambers untouched? What head gasket? Stock trans?

Just off displacement:
gain of 21 hp off displacement increase and 24 lb/trq .........not bad

I really want the 20gxtr but I'm pretty sure that would be the end of my stock 5spd haha

Sweet. Those numbers are really close to a fellow of mine that had similar mods on his hybrid VF34 with CP pistons.

Nice to see you still got the subie running. I put down similar numbers at 20 psi and not on a dyna pack. Now I'm at 23 lbs. Got any vids of the new set up?
