Default Anybody take there '12 Impreza on a long trip yet?

Going to LA and LV next week. My first time taking the Subie on a long trip. Anyone have complaints on their trip except for numbness in the buttock?

While not the same distance, I did a toronto to ottawa and back in one day trip. About 600km each way give or take. No problem of numb bum, but the slight road noise did give me a bit of a headache. Other then that, no issues.

My only complaint is the seat. Not having lumbar support is uncomfortable. I mean it's not that bad. I have been in way better but the price on those cars were alot more.

I've gone from Sac to LA and back a couple times, I find it pretty comfy, FYI I come from driving a 97 RAV4 and I'm an asian male...aka no buttocks.

I drove 4.5 hours straight after only having the car for 3 weeks, and only had been driving stick since I bought the car. I had no issues. I've made many 3 hour trips since then, and have had no issues at all.

3 hour trip to the middle of nowhere Virginia for a conference. Very smooth/comfortable ride and got to see the accuracy in gas mileage too.

We took our 2012 Impreza on a 1500 mile trip like two weeks after we bought it. It was pretty comfy. A lot comfier than our last car, actually.

I will echo the complaint about lumbar support but honestly, I don't think it's possible to be super comfortable sitting for that long of a time in any situation (driving, flying, etc).

Cars that I have driven that have perfect seats but not so perfect ride: Honda s2000, Mercedes e500, BMW 530. Although they do cost a lot lot more than the impreza. other than that all my road trip were pretty compfy. Oh another thing drive in a heavy rain storm the oem tires has bad hydroplaning resistance.

Road trips taken:
Little rock, AR to destin, FL.
Little rock, AR to Dallas, TX to San antonio, TX
Memphis, TN to Atlanta, GA
And every three weeks I drive home from Memphis, TN to Little rock, AR.

Love road trips. So far it is the almost perfect vehicle for road trips for two people. Ample space for shopping, clothes, random camping gear, blankets and food; great MPG, Awd, and reliability. I went on a road trip with 8 people. We took my car and someones zdx Acura. Nothing like using half the gas, more money for food and drinks(while parked). But I have to admit. Taking four people in this car for a week to the beach was a pain because the impreza lacked enough space. After a while I bought dws tires and roof rack. Solved 66% of the problems.

Have taken ours on quite a few 4 to 5 hour each way trips, no complaints from wife or 2 kids either found the ride of the Impreza is excellent for the size of car.

Drove our 2012 sport from Orange County, CA to Park City, UT. Did well with the inclines and was very comfortable. Taking it to Vegas this weekend!

Drove from Buffalo to Charlotte a few months ago... 11 hr drive with a few scenic stops. No complaints. I will say, along with others, lumbar support would be nice. But still a comfy ride all the same. While I don't normally rest my head on the headrest I did a few times during that ride & I love the adjustable head rest feature of this car.

I've driven it about a thousand miles in a day a couple of times so far and it's pretty comfortable for the price of the car. No complaints there. It has the heated seats though.

Longest trip so far was Rochester, NY to Washington DC. Approximately 380 miles one way, which is within this car's range on a full tank of gas. Great road trip car, although I'm glad I switched my head unit which now has satellite radio. I love Sirius/XM during a road trip....

Recently drove Denver to San Antonio roundtrip. About 950mi each way. The car was fantastic, especially with the Bluetooth audio streaming.

Done a few trips in the 3-4 hour range, and no complaints. Haven't had any issues with driver's seat comfort at all.

If you dont mind.. what head unit did you install? costs? what is the process? Do you have any pictures of it completed? I have an aftermarket xm radio playing through the aux jack mounted near the console and cant stand it. Thanks in advance..

Kansas to Virginia - 1000+ miles
Car packed to the brim with stuff...
Had a bike on the roof.
No problems...
Gas mileage was not optimal, but was expected...
Ride was great...

Does anybody else feel like the seat base isn't long enough or doesn't have enough under the knee support? I've only had the car for two days but this is my initial impression.
