Default OT/Nasioc Job Bank

I was able to help a friend get a job last week and thought that Nasioc as a whole might be able to help as well.

I know that there are some regional forums that have job listings but I was thinking that we might be able to do it on a wider scale.

I wish I had some DBA skills to put this together, but here is what I was thinking:

Company name
Job title
City
State
Basic requirements
Poster's affiliation with company (HR, knows of opening, hiring manager, etc)

Just a thought.

I've been needing a job for a long time, and so far no one in OT has offered to step up to the plate--if you catch my meaning.

Good idea, but we would need a way to separate the people who just list every single job that their company has on their website, hoping to get a referral bonus.

MWSOC forum has a thread for people looking for job and for employers looking for workers. only posts allowed in there are the ones where people post if they are looking for job/new employees. Everything else is taken care of via P.M.

By jobs/positions I mean gainful employment, as opposed to standard OT shenanigans.

Indeed...this is the OT afterall.

But on a little more serious note, I hope that we might be able to do something for the Otters that are out of work. Unemployment does not have teh funny.

Ghost writers.
Great Graphic Artists/Designers.
Web Programers - If you have Facebook experience, much better.
Fluffers.

We are looking for an outside sales rep for Atlanta, GA. We are an industry leading wholesale nursery. Clients include Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart beginning in sprint of 2010. Our sales positions are salaried, not commission. You are provided a vehicle, laptop and cell phone. You are expected to stop by stores on a regular basis, check out their plants, build an occasional order and just maintain contact with the customer. It's not a bad job.

Our sales rep for the territory is now our Walmart account manager. He is fulfilling the sales rep duties until a replacement is found.

PM me if you might be interested. I am the network admin here but I can get you in contact with our sales manager.

This can be set up using Google Spreadsheets. Have a couple people set up to make changes and the rest be able to view it.

while an interesting point I know that personally I wouldn't submit a candidate for an open position unless I knew they were a good candidate. Not worth sullying my name/reputation for what is typically a small referral bonus.

just my 2 cents.

Understandable, but you can always call, e-mail, check their posting history or grab a beer and get to know the person before you refer them. If they don't meet your criteria, odds are they will not meet the company criteria either.
