My favorite are trappist, and barleywines. Last night i was drinking Trappist Rochford 10. Though, i like almost everything else. Silvercity brewery is 5 minutes from my house, so i tend to go there a lot. Their IIPA, whoopass, is pretty tasty. I can't wait for their barelywine, old scrooge, to come out in a few weeks.

I love going to tacoma for beer. Red hot is my favorite, awesome beer and awesome hotdogs.

My tastes are always changing, but I love the dark stuff best. I haven't been able to get into the whole Belgian beer scene yet, although Duvel is not bad.

Erdinger Dunkelweiss (sp?)
Hacker Alt (on tap at Fierabend near REI Seattle)
Big Als Irish Red (on tap at Earls in Bellevue or the brewery in White Center)
La Fin du Monde
Rainier - Great after a day of Mountain Biking
Mac n Jack - Great after a day on the snow
Coors Light - Great when its hot out
Mens Room Red - when there's no Big Al's available

I also learned recently that Scotch and an IPA make a great pairing. I can't remember which specific scotch and IPA i did this with, but it was great. I did this at a restaurant in Mosier, OR.

Silvercity's Fat Scotch Ale is probably my running favorite. I like bocks, belgians, bavarians... There is a seasonal served at a local bavarian resturant called Baron Schwartz (sp?). It's a treat! I believe it's brewed by a local group as well.

I like Alaskan even beyond bias. Its the only Alaskan beer i can usually get anymore.

I drink most anything brewed in the NW as its probably been named and is genuinely good. Light or dark i don't discriminate. No bladder flush nascar beer.

Session is usually my go to beer.

Black Raven is a spectacular brewery. Stumbled accross that place a few months ago.

I'm a big IPA fan. A certifiable hop head if you will.

My favorites:

Ninkasi - Tricerahops Double IPA

Big E Brewery (in Mountlake Terrace) - 2 pint IPA - 100 IBU's

Diamond Knot Industrial

Oskar Blues - Gubna Imperial IPA (In a CAN!)

21st amendmant- Brew free or die IPA (Also in a can)

Rouge - Brutal Bitter IPA

There are lots of others, but those deffinitly top my list. Most all of them are local breweries. I make a hobby of touring local breweries and collect growlers from each one. I've got shelves of unique growlers at home.

MMM...Beeeerrr...

I am a student of the alcohol to price ratio and sometimes find myself browsing the store beer selection pulling bottles to inspect the label notifing me of the alcohol content. In these hard times of a flat economy I prefer to get my monies worth of alcohol while enjoying these tasty beverages...but sometimes you still just have to splurge and get a good six pack or 4 pack or 2 4 packs.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Caldera IPA
Widmers Deadlift IPA
Ninkasi Tricerahops IPA
Alaskan IPA
Sierra Nevada SnowCap and Bigfoot Ale
Mac n Jacks African Amber
Lagunitas Brown Shugga and Imperial Stout
Stone Brewing IPA

Tonight I had one of my 3 favorite beers - A Walking Man Brewery Black Cherry Stout - served at Henry's in Portland.

I also like Rogue's Chocolate Stout, and Oakshire's Espresso Stout. I'm not a big beer fan - I just like the very dark beers, maybe because they're less bitter? And it helps if they've got a bit of added flavor. But I really do love these dark beers.

Henry's beer selection makes me

I tried the Dog Fish Head version of this once. It cost $10 for a 12oz bottle (I didn't buy it) and tastes like laundry detergent. I had to "water" it down with a lighter beer just to drink it haha! That stuff is only for hardcore hops guys and it outta come with a warning label

Hmm, they have a pack of 4 for $10 at Fred Meyer down here. I wouldn't drink all 4 on a work night, but 2 is pretty good.

Are you sure the purchaser wasn't lying about the price and filling his or her empties with detergent for you?

I thought the $10 for 12oz was the warning label. Beers can go bad though too, I had a bad 22oz of the Mens Room Red recently.

I guess Sam from Dogfishhead has a new show coming out this month? Or hes in a new show about brewing? I only saw a quick blurp about it. But he was in a good portion of Beer Wars which has me on a totally different outlook upon beer so ill check it out for sure.

This is interesting....
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...inkban11m.html

Why do I feel like Budweisers Caffine beer will just so happen to slip under the radar on this? Whats next, im not allowed to order a vodka red bull at the bar? When I was in high school I know of kids that drank too much budweiser and had to get their stomach pumped too... but it was the parents fault back then.

Brrr is good. If you like that, you should check out Brrrbon. Same beer, only aged in oak burbon barrels. Waaay good.

I love that 90 minute ipa. Definatly not for the lighthearted though.

I don't really mind the ban. Those drinks were good for a cheap drunk, but man they taste like crap.

Anyone into aging beer? I have a beer that wont be ready till 12-12-12.
