These days, I'm on a Lagunitas kick. But Deschutes in my default.
The '09 Mirror Mirror? Its excellent!

I'm going to be in the Seattle/east side area this weekend, if anyone has a fix on where to get some of the new Dissident from Deschutes, post up!

2010 dissident is rare i think. Call up 99 bottles in federal way to see if they have any.

That '09 mirror mirror is within my top 10 beers.

100 posts! lets keep this going!

3 batches of beer. Irish red, christmas spice ale, and roaming dead ale(a dead guy clone with smoked malt and an alcohol boost). This rules!

I've made 3 batches so far and they all taste the same in a similar way. Almost a little sweet I think. Anybody in the Tacoma area want to try one that knows a thing or two about home brewing?

I had some free time while in Seattle on saturday, so I hit up Bottleworks and Big Star, here's the takeaway

- Russian River Pliney the Elder (there were 2x, I shared one with my brother). For a hop-head, I'm ashamed to say I haven't had Pliney before this weekend. I'm hooked.
- Russian River Temptation (Sour ale aged in Chardonnay Barrels)
- Russian River Supplication (Sour Brown aged in Pino Noir Barrels)
- Harviestoun Ola Dubh Special Reserve 16 (Harvistoun's "Old Oil" aged in Highland Park 16 year scotch barrels)
- Stone Lukcy Basartd, 13th Anniversary of Arrogant Bastard (already consumed)
- Big Sky Old Blue Hair (Barley wine) 2010
- Avery The Beast (Grand Cru) 2010
- Port Brewing Santa's Little Helper
- Flyers Pacemaker Porter
- Southern Tier Gemini Imperial Blended
- Deschutes 2010 Abyss x2

I bought a couple things for other people, but I spent about $150 that day. Those Russian River sours are not cheap.

I REALLY want to try the Abyss. I missed out when my local pub had a Deschutes night where they cracked a keg of that.
Did you find it at Bottleworks?

Sleigher was okay but Avery's 'Santa's Little Helper' was WAY better. Almost as good as the Czar Imperial Stout.
Ninkasi makes decent beer but I've yet to be blown way by any of them.

Found it at Big Star Market (on Aurora and Northgate), I think Bottleworks had sold out of their shipment. They had plenty on Saturday. Abyss is also a fairly large release, so look for it in some of the better stocked grocery stores soon.

A pub up here cracked kegs of the 08, 09, and 10 Abyss lastnight, I'm going to stop by tonight and see if they still have enough for a vertical.

This is the only "beer" lately that just blew me away...http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits...barleywine.htm had this on tap at jakes in steilacoom.
Im pretty blessed to have a large craft brew selection here on fort lewis in the class 6....ive been happy as a pig in **** since they expanded thier selection...i go over there and get a little of this and a little of that weekly...i feel like a wine nazi only with beer hahaha. lately ive been into the specialty rogue brews...going down to oregon to hit up thier brewery today....mmmmm.
-wet hop http://www.rogue.com/beers/chatoe-wet-hop.php
-oregasmic ale http://www.rogue.com/beers/chatoe-oregasmic.php
-double mocha porter http://www.rogue.com/beers/double-mocha-porter.php

Also ellensburg's finest iron horse brewery has a new brew "mocha death" that is amazing. http://www.iron-horse-brewery.com/br...=Mocha%20Death

Iron Horse is cranking out some excellent brews. That Mocha Death is wonderful, an iced (or lukewarm, preferably) mocha with alcohol.

Much Success!
Went to Rogue brewery's public :-)house in Astoria....got 2 beers for ageing and one that is local Oregon only.
-21 Ale in a ceramic flip-top bottle-21 barrels ever brewed...super excited about this one!
-Imperial porter in a ceramic flip-top bottle- vintage 2008.
-Sunset stout-Check this out...Friday April 23rd, 2010 Rogue welcomed the soldiers of the Oregon National Guard home to Eugene from Iraq with a nice cold bottle of Sunset Stout in a commemorative bottle depicting the Oregon National Guard designation. At the end of the demobilization ceremony an enormous cheer rang through the fairgrounds facility as the soldiers were told they each had a 22 oz. Rogue beer waiting for them outside.

I am officially a member of the Rogue Nation....good people and great beer.

Brett

I would hope you had success at a PUBIC house...

I really want to check out one of their breweries. I wonder if the one here in Issaquah measures up to the Oregon ones.

I've really hit the homebrew scene hard again after averaging just a couple a year. I have 4 beers on tap at the moment, and a cider that's almost ready to keg.

On tap:

Vagabond Ale (like Jolly Roger in the old days)

Imperial Russian Stout (unnamed at the moment)

Happy Happy Joy Joy Holiday Ale

Hideous Haggis Strong Scotch Ale

and the cider will be a 12.5% sledgehammer when done.

Other than that, Rogue Imperial and Abyss Imperial are two of my favorites.
