Default Lifted Outbacks?

Anyone out there know of anyone who's lifted an outback or made it more off-road worthy? I'd love to see some modded OBs come to a Pine Barrens run with us. We have a few regular OBs come, but none lifted yet.

My '97 has a 2" lift, front /rear skid plates, LSD Rear diff, ACT Clutch w/ lightened flywheel, and lots of other goodies. In the winter I run 215/75/15s (same size as a Jeep/toyota PU) in summer, 225/60/16s for better handling. With the taller tires, there's about 10-11" of clearance under the diff... A dual range tranny would round out the package nicely...

Have definately taken it in spots only Jeeps can go...

Too bad you guys are so far away...

That's pretty close... The color is the same, mine's a 97, that's a '98. The main difference is that on has the body lift too, mine doesn't. Also, both of my wheel/tire set ups are different too (bigger). That's the car on the ISR web site, isn't it?

ISR is where my parts came from for the lift, very good outfit to deal with.

I'll take my digi home this weekend and snap some pics...

Ya, that is off ISR web site.

I wish I could put a lift on my OB. I am spending most of my time on my 93 Loyale.

Thanks a lot...

Its taken quite awhile to get it to this point. Just need a Dual Range tranny for some more serious off roading, 1st gear is not quite low enough for proper crawling...

Nice looking Outback. Did the coil lift affect allignment or tire wear at all? Do you have any details on the difficulty of doing the labor? Just curious. I am thinking about doing the same for my 2000 Outback.

hmmm, if those pictures are of 225/60r16 summer tires, i wonder what tires would fit on an 03 ob since the standard tire size for the 2000+ ob's are 225/60r16. i wanted to add the springs to mine as well, but only if i could go up in tire size as well.

Not sure how the clearance would be. If you dropped to a 15" tire you could run a 215/75r15 (or bigger) easily that's quite a but taller than 225/60r16s. Otherwise you could put a skinnier, taller 16" tire on.
The strut clearance was quite tight with the 225/60s on the 97, don't think you could go any wider.

Hope this helps..

Rally Stuff dual range transfer case

[email protected] has successfully mated a Nissan dualrange transer case to the Subaru! contact him for details .He's located in Eugene,Or.

My outback is going to be lifted with H6 springs1/2"/subaxtreme strut lift 35-40mm and a factory baja body (1" liftspacers")

It will make my outback ready for serious offroad. here's a
pic before the lift.
