I notice in their itemization, that there's a doc fee of $499. I know that these fees aren't regulated in VA, but that is excessively high. Has anyone else ordered around the Northern Virginia area and seen these prices? I know I posted yesterday about a 38.4K offer, but I managed to negotiate it down, just wondering if there's even more room.
That sounds high. I got my 2012 STi hatch with cargo tray, side door protectors, all weather mats, rear bumper protector, front lip, wheel locks and a few other add-ons for an OTD of $32,500.
Keep in mind the nav system is a $1000 option but in reality I think it's dealer msrp is something like $700-$800. So negotiate. Don't just pay full pop and be ready to walk away from the deal and go to another dealer if your dealership isn't willing to negotiate.
And always, always start off by getting your price through the Internet sales person. They have to fight harder to get you in the door so they give better pricing and don't be afraid to tell them you are collecting quotes from other dealers (just don't say which ones).

When we were ordering our 2012's we had a dealer who took screen shots of the ordering pages on his work computer and post them for us. It gave us all real pricing for the cars and popular accessories. Helpful info for negotiating. You guys should try and get the same so you don't over pay.

I doubt it. I ordered a base swp sedan on 8/31 with no navi and a few extras. Called SOA on monday and still no update or vin. She said to call the dealer after thanksgiving for an update. Its 6 weeks today. It will be 12 weeks the week of thanksgiving, 14+ weeks if it comes december when she said my ETA was. She said don't expect it before december. This is getting frustrating. Come on subaru, its called an assembly line. Its not a maserati with all hand made parts.

Check out some videos..I only skimmed them, but not sure I would say hand made parts.

Wow, that's a great deal, do you remember the difference between the car price quoted and the invoice?

The quote of $36,183 is already ~$500 below invoice, but I guess the dealership made that back with the $499 "doc fees". I've been getting quoted at $500 above invoice form 4 difference dealerships in the Norther Virginia Area, they just aren't budging, this last one gave in I guess, but now your OTD price has me questioning if I should do some more haggling.

So ETA + 4 days. Dealer says the "pipeline" still says 10-08-12. Did the truck get lost? I can't imagine it takes 4 days to get from port to dealer? I'm admittedly impatient, but when you're told one day and now no one can tell you where it is, it's a little concerning...

If it makes any difference, I was talking with Cobb at subyfest and the reason they don't have a acessport available yet for the 2013 sti is because the ecm Rom is different. I would like to see an independent evaluation of a stock 13.

I think the thing that irks me the most through this process is how poorly the tracking is in general. I can buy something online for $1 from any place on earth pretty much and follow it the whole way to my door, but I can't track a car?

I am sorry but I am calling BS on getting a brand new 2012 STi 5 door for 32500 OTD. Not possible. Dealer would lose 2-3000 dollars at that price. At least. Invoice is 35K. Even after you back out the stuff we get behind invoice you are 1000 below net cost and that included all you taxes and fees????

You either made a typo, or there is something wrong there. Maybe you had a trade in? Are you subtracting your down payment? Shenanigans.

I know it is frustrating. My pipeline still shows 10/8 for your cars as well.

My guess is that there was a break down/issue with either a train or a semi somewhere. Who knows. Keep in mind it is a lot different than putting a bar code on a UPS package to track it. These are independent companies, and they have to report things to Subaru for Subaru to update the pipeline.

I'd imagine it would have to be pretty decent sized issue, as there is at least two of us in Sommers with 10/8 ETA and then how ever many with you all in Evanston.

So realistically the cars are together.

At least they have each other through this difficult journey of theirs.

Pretty much exactly what I said earlier, but yeah i'm looking to Cobb to report on their findings in the 2013 maps / tables...

My car has arrived!! I've been waiting 10 years for this moment. Should I have the dealer clean it or take it home to do it myself? Trying to get out of work early to get it. Pics to be given

Ordered 9-15
Arrived 10-12!
Bday 10-14

Pics will definitely coming! Good luck to everyone else

I also have an ETA of 10/8 and still have no car. I am in TN, and my dealer says status is still showing "completed" and has not been updated since last week.

This is what i've been saying all along on these forums.
Guys getting a low price is not a form of posturing, nor does it make you "Cooler". Let's share REAL information so it's actually useful.

I don't feel so bad now...

Ohhhh boy! It's more widespread than we first thought!

Maybe we should get on the phone with Subaru and start all asking where the cars are. Since they seem to still have them, maybe they can upgrade us to STi's

I'm in PA and my eta was 10/8 as well. My salesman called me yesterday and told me it was at port along with 75 other WRX's, however subaru is doing a "quality control inspection". Subaru wouldnt give them anymore info on when they were going to release them.

My salesperson talked to a driver dropping off a different load the other day. She said the driver mentioned that there are a ton of imprezas/WRXs ready to go, they are just releasing them slowly. Possibly for quality control reasons.

Interesting how some dealers have access to more info than others.

If this is true, you'd think that they'd of changed the ETA or even placed it in HOLD like some others. Here I've been sitting waiting by the phone like a little school girl...
