I hear nitrous is second only to detonation as the best thing for subaru pistons. The bigger the shot the better.
What kinda deal will you give me? |

I found the nit because the customer was complaining of an misfire problem cylinder 1.. (have a feeling cracked ring) didn't charge anything told him sorry we weren't gonna work on it. Some **** you work on and find out things and just have to pull out the rug from under them before your kicking your ass down the road

Before sanding tape off around headlight: wet sand the old stuff off the head light. use 600 grit and slowly work your way to 1000 grit. If there is bad pitting work up to 3,000 grit. Best practice is to use an air powered disk because it speeds things up This is what it will look like after sanding you want nothing to look shinny (this is a different headlight by the way) Then clean the headlight with a good cleaner that doesn't leave residue (denatured alcohol). Allow the alcohol to evaporate, use a hair dryer or heat gun to make sure its all gone Then spray with renulight. You spray this on thick, not like painting at all you want it to run to the bottom of the headlight. Basically follow the instructions on the can. After spraying and letting it to set for about 10 mins, make sure there are no more runs and put car under the sun. So it needs to be a sunny non windy day, or you can put UV lights on the lights to cure inside (takes much longer). They will look brand new if you take your time. We do this at the shop and get payed 100 to do it, with a 3yr/36k warranty. Works great. Here is a link to the product we use Last edited by Jdub.csu; 05-31-2012 at 11:07 AM. |

How the hell do you fix the issue with sludge once its that bad? Ive been told Filling with ATF and running at Idle only to clean out the sludge but i cant imagine it working with that.

We tried running a cleaner then doing an oil change. It took out a lot of sludge, but the engine ended up locking up. After removing the valve covers you can see how bad it was, and you could tell the cleaner helped in some areas but yeah it was bad. Opening it up and seeing that was like

Used to deal with Saabs, they sludge a lot, engine cleaner will never work on sludge. Engine has to be dismantled and oil passages cleared out if any chance of recovery.

I am not a mechanic, but I work in sales and I hear it from the techs out back, and I see my share with people in sales too.
