Default M3 Style Spoiler on the 2011 wrx sedan $49 shipped!

I've gotten a few Pm's about it so i thought i should make a thread. i picked up my car w/out the factory spoiler intentionally. I eventually want the Sti Ts spoiler, but thought id go w/ this cheap option for now. The paint matches very well, blue metal flake and everything
it also shipped VERY fast, had it just a few days!

it's from this ebay seller:

http://shop.ebay.com/paintedspoilers...=1&_from=&_ipg=

it's your responsibility to provide the car manufacturer, paint code, and length.

Hmmm...pretty nice looking! Too bad I've got the standard spoiler on my Limited. Might have to see about a trunk swap with someone who has a SWP base...

BTW, how is it attached? Double Sided Tape I'm guessing?

Not bad, but I would like to see one slanted more towards the rear instead of sticking up straight.

Just Googled the sti ts spoiler and that is exactly what I am looking for. But for 49 shipped that lip spoiler is pretty good.

Yeah just saw that. Too much for me. I'm hoping a company in the states will make a replica. A cf one from dg motorsports would be really cool.

Not to hijack this thread but as a first time Subaru owner with my 2011 WRX, I do have a question. I also Googled the STI TS to see what the spoiler was about. The C&D article that I came across made mention of it having the same 2.0L Turbo that the regular J-Spec STI's have. Is that a typo? The J-Spec's use 2.0L instead of 2.5L yet they seem to make the same horsepower? Just curious if someone can fill me in.
Apparently if you get the STI TS in automatic (WHY?!?) you get a "downgraded" 2.5L! Interesting...

EDIT: By the way, I should add that while the TS spoiler does look really good, it being $600 is freakin crazy!! Technically, it should be just as easy to make and attach as the $49 ebay spoiler that this thread is about!

Yes, the JDM STi gets a 2.0L known as the EJ207. It's a hell of a motor. It's factory twin scroll and strong as hell. I've seen them take a boatload more abuse than any EJ255/EJ257 in a USDM WRX/STi. The heads are also designed much better.

I think the main reason we don't get them in the states is two fold. 1) The US loves torque and displacement and 2) it's hard to make the 2.0L meet the US's strick pollution standards and still have the power output necessary to sell an STi.

I'm curious what the Ebay spoiler would look like mounted on the back of the trunk lid rather than on top of the trunk lid. In other words, mount it like the TS spoiler.

If you need it painted, make sure you apply the lip to the trunk and then have it painted while it's on the car. I bought one of those for my old car, had it painted and then it got all wrinkled from the flex (soft rubber) and then applied it to my trunk. I hated it

Other than the length possibly being different, there shouldn't be any reason it would not work on a GD (or any other car, for that matter). I have one of these spoilers for my Legacy, along with a spare trunk lid, but have just never gotten around to actually installing it.

If you measure your trunk, then go on Ebay and search for "M3 lip xx", where xx is the length you need, you'll find a number of places that list them. Painted, unpainted, "carbon fiber look" (horrendously fake looking), etc.
