Don't know if there is already a thread for this. I've tried searching but couldn't find anything..

How did you guys become involved/interested into cars? And not just Subarus. I became involved when I was maybe like 3 or 4 playing gran torismo on play station 1 with my steering wheel lol. And then most when 2 fast and 2 furious came out, and a family friend who built a 88 mustang in my garage when I was 9.

I guess it was the whole "cool" aspect of it, especially being so young, being young and seeing types of cars, hearing the motors, just a thrill that gives me goosebumps and the chills when I see a car that i love.

When I was a freshmen in high school I got Into Hondas -obsessing over them. I went through some personal issues, I was depressed and whatever, and that family friend with the mustang got me more involved also through those times. He pulled up in a eg coupe with a lsv swap. And it was a wrap since then lol

Just how you grow up i guess! I grew up playing with cars and cars only but with my dad always working on them and him owning a 300zx i think that played a little part.

What kind of subie do you own and do you still have the eg coupe!?

I rebuilt my first engine with the help of my father at 6 years old. Started racing karts at 9. So I think I was born into cars, but honestly I have been into cars since 4 or 5. At 16 I got my scca license and haven't gone a day without cars being my main priority.

I got into cars relatively late you could say. When I was 17 after some time of driving I started paying attention to different cars and the differences between them. I remember seeing cool cars such as Vipers, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris, but didn't really know the difference lol.

At the age of 11 it just clicked... I Became obsessed. Then shortly after The Fast and The Furious debuted. I fell in love with cars, and talked people's ears off about them. My first car love, was the 1999 Eclipse GSX. I was finally able to buy one and loved it until my first subie came along. Probably helped that my dad is an Engineer and also loves cars and grew up working on them.

The fast and the furious was like the big thing that got kids involved, like us both. It's always such an achievement to have a car you love and finally get one.. Achievement unlocked!

i became involved when i was probably 8 or 9 years old and had read a book on how cars work. everything from differentials to wheels to the engine. taught myself how to drive a stick by reading that book simply by reading on what it does mechanically and not actually getting behind a wheel.

When I was little, I remember looking out of the window and just memorizing all the cars that I saw. I could basically name almost any car that came into view to a T. My parents never understood why I did it. I just liked to. Then, I got a PlayStation 1 and the first game I got was Test Drive 5. I remember learning so much about cars and manufacturers from that game. I always picked the Dodge Viper and would race through Moscow, avoiding cops and making tight turns. It was all so fun to me. Then, I met a kid whose brother had just bought a 4 door Honda Civic. This was back when ricer things were cool, and I thought it was so awesome when he swapped out the tail lights for the clear ones and such. Since then, I've been into cars. My first car was an 06 RSX that I got towards the end of my senior of high school. Now, almost 3 years later, I'm in love with my Stage 1 2013 WRX.

When I was 16 and took my 86 GL hatchback for some brakes. They told me it was going to be $400 and I almost fell over. (Four bills was like a month's worth of paychecks from the bike shop). So I took one look over at the monkeys who would be doing the job and realized it probably wasn't that hard. Complicated and maybe a little dirty, but not difficult. The rest is history. 18 years strong now driving and wrenching on Subarus.

Cars - Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit.

Subarus - Rally Challenge. I played the hell out of both games. It was in Rally Challenge when I was 9 or so and I said, "I want a Subaru rally car when I grow up."
