Default jack stand placement 2013 WRX.

thanks

Should be just behind the front wheels and just in front of the rear wheels. If you jack it up and look under there you should be able to spot the jack points. They're reinforced and look different from the rest of the undercarriage.

the jack points are clearly marked on the body seam. those are also the spots designed for jack stands.

no.

jack stands (ideally) should be placed at the OEM scissor jack jacking points.

This^

To lift the car with the actual jack, there is a spot in the front and the back. The front is just after the plastic under tray, there is a metal plate that is made to lift the car. Then place your two jack stands at the seam welds on the front just behind the front wheels.
Next jack the rear of the car from the rear differential, make sure to not let the jack touch any part of the cover. If the jack lifts with the cover then you could loosen it and leak fluid. Then place your remaining stands on the seam welds in front of the rear tires.

Remove the actual jack and you should be good. I like to give it a good bump on all the fenders to make sure its steady. I also put 2x4's stacked under the lift points as a failsafe for a jack. They aren't supporting the load, but if it does fall they are there to help. You can never be too safe.

Just google "2011 WRX jack points"
They are all the same for 08+

So do you jack the car up by the subframe then? My sub frames are covered with a sticky black tar like substance.

Never mind, thanks ^^^

Do you need to put a wood between the jack and the jack point right behind the plastic frame?

I did when i changed my oil a couple weeks ago. It helps keep things from getting scratched

Most of the time you are jacking up the car you will have a tire off... put the tire halfway under the car, just in case.
