04 wagon saved from a life of winters
I've never created a build thread for this car. I'm very behind of it so atleast from here on out I can document a little something for the classics that still use this site.
Cars a 04 wrx wagon in white. I bought it off a man whose intentions were to daily drive it in the winter and we all know how that goes with wagons. You could tell looking at this thing that a enthusiast owned the car and after running the carfax it was owned by the same person for 14 years averaging under 5k a year. When I bought it it had 146k on it and needed some love. Had turbo wastegate issues and such. I've been building this car with my wife now for 4 years and it's our weekend toy and autocross/ time attack car while looking as OEM+ as possible. But it's an absolute blast for a little sti swapped wagon. I've kept the original wagon track for now and I'm slowly collecting everything to sedan strack swap it. But so far this is what I've got in her. I'm still on a 205 or if that's what it had when I got it. Theirs been talk of it maybe being something more then a 205 just because it's so damn healthy sitting at 157k. A lot of old school fun goodies and theirs not many white wagons left 2004 wrx wagon Engine: VF48 turbo Cobb ebcs Sti top mount Bren tuned 334whp/305tq @20psi Tomei expream v1 header Perrin dual tube catback exhaust Killer B pick up/baffle New coil packs New MAF spt intake Oem subaru modded intake Silicon inlet Perrin v1 LW crank pulley Cobb ap v3 Sti dark blue injectors DW 300 fuel pump new FPR All new bolts for just about anything I touched and new hoses Group n motor mounts Group n tranny mount Group n dogbone Grimm speed battery tie down Spt radiator shroud Mishimoto radiator Suspension: RCE T2 coils 500/400 rates Vorschlag camber/caster plates up front RCE forged rear camber plates Cusco adj rear sway bar Whiteline rear billet mounts All new oem hardware Kartboy end links Jdm pink sti rear trailing arms Poly bushings all in rear Cusco rear box brace with sti diffuser Subframe lockdown brace Front white line sway bar New hardware Kartboy end links Front h brace Front Cusco triangle brace Jdm sti titanium strut tower bar Sti tie rods Whiteline rack bushings Brakes: Driveline swap/brembos Dba t3 club spec rotors Hawk hp5.0 pads all around Hawk dtc60 pads for track jdm sti pink braided lines Jdm sti pink braided slave line Sti master cyl Cusco master cyl brace Stoptech 660 fluid Exterior: Jdm sti fog light covers Jdm sti crystal headlights Sti side skirts Sti v limited lip Jdm wrx tails with fog light Oem imported mid wing Sti diffuser BBS wheels 245/45r17 hankook R comp tires Prova blue wide angle mirror lenses Sti hood scoop Jdm v8 sti grill w/ OEM pink I logo Sti door stickers Hella super tones done in white Tint Interior: 04 sti carpet 04 sti seats 04 door cards Wagon rear seat graphed with sti seat Oem sti floor mats 04 sti steering wheel V7 prodrive cluster in MPH Red jdm hazard Sti door handles Sti ebrake 07 sti center console swap 07 radio with aux Polk door speakers Oem lambo boost gauge Wagon rear rubber mat for trunk Track spec extinguisher mount Fire extinguisher 6 speed delron shift knob.

Very nice!
Those power numbers in that setup make me feel good as it’s very similar to mine.. |

What a beauty! This is a lot of what I hope my wagon becomes.
Can you go in to detail on what you did with the rear seat? Or pictures you can share? I have ideas floating around for mine, but I haven't put anything in motion yet. Hope to see more of this car! |

I can tell you it was an absolute pain and I ended up needing two seats to make one. So prepare for that. I didn’t take photos aside from just a few I can post here later. But I’d buy two sti rear sedan seats to make sure you have enough material so everything centered properly and prepare to add material in certain places and get a set of hogring pliers!

Sweet, can't wait to see. I've mostly been thinking about making the whole seat back fold down so that I don't have to cut the STi fabric on the front.. But retaining the 60/40 split would definitely be cool.

Subscribed!! Another proud wagon owner here (JDM '05 Hawkeye). Have been thinking about creating a thread like this but can't get the photo image hosting site to play ball!

I personally use Google Photos. I have an album of all my WRX project pictures set to Shared, and then I just use that image link here. It's a bit of a pain, but it works well. From another Wagon owner (04 Blob), I'd love to see your thread. Also, where'd you go scoobywagon06? You said you were gonna show me your rear seat! Last edited by DrTrae; 06-22-2022 at 10:37 AM. |

Talking of seats, I'm thinking of replacing my stock, grey and black WRX bucket seats with some blue, STi ones from a Bugeye, as they seem to have much better support than both the Blobeyes and Hawkeyes. |

Yeah, the pics look much better/clearer on my pc then when I tried to look at them earlier on my iPhone.
On the subject of seats, albeit the fronts rather than rear (nice job on those btw), were they from an '04 sedan or another wagon and in any case, were they a straight swap? I'm particularly thinking about the rails. Thanks in advance. |

So you kept the 60/40 split, the head rests and everything. Very cool. Thanks for the pics! Love the passenger seat mounted fire extinguisher too. |

Thanks for the reply and confirmation. I've got my eye on a pair of front sedan seats (albeit from different cars) and am seriously thinking about swapping out my stock WRX seats for those, since the earlier ones seem to have a narrower design and therefore hold you in better. At least that has been my impression when I've sat in both types of STi seat.
