Default Have you had your H6 upgrade for a while? If so how has the rotor held up?

Sorry, you are thinking I want to know about it's performance, not this time.

I'm about to put them on soon and was wondering about the gray paint that is on it.

How does it look after a while? Does it rust like the earlier WRX rotors?

Should I paint them before I put them on?

Thanks,

They hold up MUCH better than the WRX rotors for some reason. I bought mine brand new and they still look day one new and I've had them for a year or so. Even if you dont drive the car for a few days, the rotor surface doesn't get as rusty as the stock WRX rotors. Unless you are painting both front and backs to match, I think you can skip it on the H-6 rears.

I bought my Legacy rotors from Carbotech who e-coats the top hats black. So therefore they look great still.

I got mine from a Subaru dealership and I think they are zinc or cadmium coated? No rust so far but they have only been on a short while.

I was wondering about the coating. If I were to paint it I have no idea how to prep it properly so it lasts (to match the blk hats of the fronts).

Any ideas? do you think that coating can just be painted over?

If you haven't ordered them already, save yourself the hassle and just buy the Carbotech rotors. That way they match.

Yeah, I realized that a day later.

I have just received my rotors and H6 brackets. I'm still waiting for the pads to arrive.
