Default The 08-10 WRX (non STi) 17"/18" wheels thread

so i didnt see a thread for this specific application, so i figured i would make one to help me and anyone else find fitment options in a single thread rather than looking through other threads which are compiled with multiple model years and different size wheels.

preferred format for ease:

Wheel Specs: Diameter / Width / Offset
Tire and Specs: Model, Width/Sidewall/Diameter
Suspension: Springs / Shocks, approx. how much lowered in inches
Fender Modification: rolling/pulling necessary?
Wheel Spacers: how thick in mm, if applicable

pics of the fitment of your setup would be nice too if you have them. please try to keep the posts to 08-10 WRXs only, as other MYs and STi fitment may not be applicable to the 08+ WRX.

I find the ride quality a bit rough on this setup... and xxr 522 feels a bit heavy.

this isnt the thread for that question. you should search and see what others have run (since no one has posted such setup in this thread yet). this thread is mostly just to be a guideline, not a definitive answer on what will or will not work on your car.

but mostly it will depend on a lot of different variables that come into play.

what offset are the wheels? what suspension mods do you have? how low is the car? what are your camber settings? what tires are you running and in what size? etc. all of those things come into play. but with 18x9 i would probably expect to roll the rear fenders, at least from what ive seen.

Wheel Specs: Work emotion cr Kai's 17x9 +44
Tire and Specs: Hankook sport k104 245/40
Suspension: stock for now. rce/bilstein combo soon. 20mm front, 15mm rear.
Fender Modification: will be rolling rear soon but atm no, no rubbing.
Wheel Spacers: none.
about a 15mm clearance between inner rim/tire and front strut. next tire will probably be 255/40 depending on if clearance changes with rce/bilstein kit. in the second pic the front wheel seems to stick out pretty far, looking at the car now it doesnt seem as much.

Nice rides out there! I hope to get some wheels soon, got caught up spending lots of money on stereo stuff and OEM addon's. I'd love to see more of these so I can make my mind up on sizes!

Default Just the visual help I've been looking for

After poking around a bit, this looked like one of the most knowledgable threads about tire/wheel combinations. Even though my WRX is not within your particular years, would still like your input:

Up in the air about taking the time to find a nice set of gold 2004 BBS STi wheels for my 2005 WRX wagon or to just get the one set that has caught my eye of late: Prodrive GT1 18x7.5 +48. All I wan to put on them is 225/45R17s or 225/40R18s (can't go too wide; have to avoid rubbing on rear fenders) but I also want to eventually upgrade to Bembos all around.

What recommendations do you all have?

Hey any one know if a 245/40/17 on a +48 offset will have any rubbing issues?

Searched this thread and I see lots of +48 offset but none with this particular tire. It would be on a 17x8 OZ Ultraleggera.

Thanks

hey guys! these are what i put on my 2008 2.5i

Wheel Specs: varrstoen 17x9+35
Tire and Specs: GT radial CHAMPIRO HPYs 235/45r17
Suspension: stock suspension
Fender Modification: most definitely all around.
Wheel Spacers: no spacers

this is what she looked like before i picked up the wheels

between stock, and the new wheels, there is a huge difference!

i already knew from the getgo i would need to roll my fenders, so i might as well do it right...

here are them finally on!
