Default So I took a little informal poll while running this morning...

While jogging down Basswood in N. Fort Worth today, I decided to count the number of domestic vs. foreign (including JDM, Korean, and European) cars that passed by. The results were: out of 62 total cars counted, there were 40 domestic and 22 foreign.

Silly Texans.

Nope, my guess was somewhere between 3:2 and 2:1 in favor of domestic. Yay, I win.

As a side note, I'm hosting my in-laws from Houston, who evacuated for Rita. Right now, in front of my house, there are two Chevies, two Fords, a Jeep, and my Subaru.

to be more accurate, you need to know where the people grew up vs what car they drive. I grew up in texas and drove a chevy truck, but I drive a subaru now...so go figure.

the wife(born in dallas) but rasied in ohio, from month 6 on, drives a mazda and will never own a "domestic" car. all my friends drive domestics though...even my canadian friends

Well, I'd actually be surprised if out of any given 50 car sample you got a single JDM car. USDM Japanese, sure ... 10-20 sounds right.

Good catch -- sorry, wrong nomenclature.

And yeah, the end of my jogging route (which is quite short because of my b0rked-up ankle) puts me out on Basswood and Teal, then I turn down Park Vista to head back to the house.

You have to go the the "What's This?" link in the mini popup and at the bottom there is a link that will add a cookie setting (I think) to disable the ads from appearing on your browser.

Another good informal poll would be to see the difference in number of trucks/suvs vs the number of cars.

For me it is no European. I prefer MIJ, but I would rather have a domestic than a European. Way overpriced for what you get. I have never been impressed with European engineering in cars. They just throw money at every problem and end up with expensive, over-wrought cars.
