Spilled Milk, how to clean?
Well after only 2500km, my car had it's first 'incident'
There was a minor milk spill on my back seat, luckily it was picked up quick so the spillage only equated to a few table spoons. I removed the back seat and steam cleaned it within about an hour of the spill but I know that milk can be a bit tricky. Is there anything else I should do to it after it dries? |

On a serious note, there's really nothing you can do after. I had flooding in my car carpet which I went ahead and replaced the whole carpet.

Yea yea i had that one coming
Cool, I figure it should be fine but wanted to be sure. I imagine a substantial amount of milk dried in the cushion wouldn't be pleasant... |

Shampoo or a good dish soap like Dawn. Mix it full strength with no water on the spot with a tooth brush till its turned to a fine foam like shaving cream. Then poor super hot water on it and pull it out with a shop vac immediately dont let it soak in. That should do it....the longer you wait to clean it the harder it will be to get it out, due to it soaking slowly into the foam under the cloth.

Personally, I would try an enzymatic cleaner like Kids n Pets or similar. I have had luck just using extraction in the past but an enzyme product should better your chances especially with organic residue like this. .....incld. vomit, urine, etc.

Spilled milk fix
My son is a Subaru mechanic and they had a Subie with spilled milk in the back seat. Owner called their insurance company and had the entire seat replaced AFTER a thorough cleaning.

I had a two month old bottle of milk "go off" under my seat one day. I have no idea how it got there in the first place, but it was a horrible smell. Anyway, I pulled the seats, shop vac'd ask much as possible then peeled the carpet back. I used an orange/citrus based enzyme cleaner that most professional cleaning stores sell. It takes time and Patience to get it done right.
