78k / $14,999 but he's going to have to come down because I need to replace the brakes, shocks and tires.

Mileage isn't bad, but yeah, definitely got to get the price lowered.

Was it just the pads or rotors too? 33s will run you $1000+ if you buy new. Shocks will run you a few hundred. How much can you get for your car?

Pads and rotors up front. I can get $14k for my car through Carmax, more I'm sure if I went for a private sale.

^Nice Rodeo.

Damon- Looks sick. Time for OME lift

Slow5oh- I hate you so much right now. Then I read you were kidding.

Whitty-
That doesn't look very rusty to me, a little surface, but not turrible. The tub appears very clean. A little elbow grease and Chassis saver you can make the spots that have some touches of rust look new. The rustiest thing I see is the knuckles on the D30, but who cares long term that's a replacement piece. I do think he is a shade high on price based on all the things you'll have to do for repair. On the flipside it's a D44 rear which means you can go a long way off-road with just replacing the front axle with a D44 or a HPD30 and locking the rear.

Brakes- These are supposed to be the ****- http://shop.blackmagicbrakes.com/Jee...0-2006_c44.htm

I had a 98 Rodeo that I loved, but I traded it in for my WRX. I never had any problems with the Rodeo, Isuzu FTW!

Only problem I've had was alternator issues. It's fine now. The thing is truly an offroad machine. Mine is a 5spd also, so I have a lot of fun with it in the woods. Makes me feel like I am driving a trophy truck haha.

The Interstate Battery place on College stocks Braille batteries and at reasonable prices too.

Independent4x sells all kinds of parts for them and they are great quality from what I hear.

If I can make it happen I will but I need to trade in the Touareg first. I'll miss the 7700lb tow rating and the comfortable interior but for what I tow an 80 series should work fine, it just won't have the pep of the V8 in the Touareg.

The 7 seats is the biggest selling point for my wife, her and my sister's kids like to take trips together and it would be nice if they didn't have to take 2 vehicles all the time. The gas mileage we won't mind much since the Touareg already gets pretty poor mileage.

I doubt a rig like that will last long enough for me to be able to pick it up though.

Overall, it's in really good shape and drives really well. It is in desperate need of front brakes and new shock bushings but other than that it has been taken care of very well. The only thing that gives me pause is some of the rust as the car has spent its life living at the beach.

What do you guys think of the rust? Too much? Ok?n/DSC_4177.jpg[/IMG]
I would have killed the waffly not sure if he was selling bastage.

Aside from that. If you are ever worried about rust on a jeep, bring along a ball-peen hammer. Lightly tap the rusty areas, if it makes a solid PINGGGG you are good to go. If you hear a crunch... run away.

Typical problem areas are by the shock towers in the rear... and bottom rear of the frame rails. Watch out for changing the shock bushings... those mounting bolts (especially in the rear) LOVE to snap off and are a gigantic PITA.

From the photos just looks like a little surface rust, you can go get some good brush on rust converter. Benjamin Moore sells a really nice one they just started carrying, we used some recently worked very well.

Then you can just do some overspray with a satin black rustoleum. Dont use matte spray on the spots, water seems to permeate it too easily and it wears out quick... gloss holds up better but well its glossy. Satin seems to be the perfect mix.

Good Luck... pretty Jeep... as for price I would ask for $1000 less than blue book for the necessary repairs.

Yeah they are hard to find with low mileage, mine has 140ish. It doesnt smoke or burn oil though and runs great.
