What is a good price for a USDM EJ20
There is a yard in North Carolina offering complete swaps (engine, harness, and tranny im assuming) for $4k. Does that seem like a good price?

That's pretty good if it has the tranny and drivetrain.

I paid $4350 for my complete swap. This included all the wiring, fuel pump, fuel pump controller, crossmember, rear diff, transmission, engine, turbo, sensors etc.
Check to see what you are really getting and understand that no matter what they say is included, it is still missing parts. I've spent around $500 extra on miscellaneous parts that were either bent, broken, or missing. -Jon |

Thanks. I thought that might be a bit high for just the usdm motor and its external bits. The WRX rear dif is LSD right? Why are the axles required with the diff?

Yes, you must match LSD axles with the LSD. If you use non-LSD axles, they'll go together, but they'll fall out a few miles down the road.

Look on ebay, lately there has been several 02/03 engines with transmission and complete harness for 1300-2300 bux. They are getting more and more common these days which is driving the price way down.
