Stromung install question
Hey guys just had a quick question about intalling a stromung midpipe and axle back system. The midpipe comes with a gasket. Do i use this gasket on the stock manifold and midpipe connection cuz there is that black donut thing in the manifold. My car seams to sound funny at idle now like bop, bop, bop like i have a exhaust leak maybe. I didnt put the gasket in. should I. i dont think it fits though. Anyone know the answer?
Erik

you have an RS?
IIRC, the front connection is a spring-loaded type that i don't think has a removeable gasket. i believe that "black donut" thing is the only seal. the gasket i beileve is used btw the midpipe and the axle-back where there should be an old gasket when you remove the stock exhaust. just make sure that if there was a gasket there when you took it off, there is a gasket there when you put it back on. easy. |

didn't i tell you last night all you need to do is get a new donut from subaru and i'll put it on for you? the gaskets are all in the right spot, the extra gasket was to be used if you have an aftermarket header which you do not. so go buy a donut and i'll put it on for you when i'm doing mike's exhaust.

OK on the Strömung you do need to either replace the donut or reuse it. I would recommend replacing it since your car is a 2000 and it probably has a few miles on it, you should also replace the rear paper gasket was well. On the install you will need to reuse everything except for the midpipe and and the muffler. The Strömung will also make a nice rumbling sound once it is installed.
