Default How to fix a scratch...

Hello Enthusiasts...
So, I apologize if this was covered, but while I was vacuuming the car I received a really light scratch on the silver STI gear shift surround. And, even though it's a light scratch, my OCD-AC (obsessive compulsive disorder- about cars) it still bothers me. I've done a search, but it didn't produce any threads- at least without going through the thread extensively. I understand, now, that the surround is easily scratched...ugh.
If anyone has any insight, or could point me to a thread that has had some luck in repairing it, I'd be greatly appreciative.
PS- I would rather not paint it or plastidip.

Cover it. Wrap it in something. Replace it. Paint it.

You wont fix a scratch into the plastic and have it look any good.

My shifter trim was pretty scratched up from the previous owner. I just replaced it with a new one. They are only $40 from subarugenuineparts.com. If this one gets scratched up I'll wrap it in vinyl.

You can that and the interior door handles replaced under warranty. Subaru is aware the paint on those is weak.

Even better to know! Did you do take advantage of using the warranty? If so, was there a process, or was it as simple as saying my trim panel is scratched and I want it replaced?
