Shift knob decision
Hey guys I'm looking for an aftermarket shift knob to replace the stock one from my 2011 WRX. I was looking into all of the options and I came across a few nice ones, but far too expensive for my taste. I have kinda narrowed it down to the STI Duracon knob or the COBB knob. Any input on what I should go with? Thanks

I have the blox (490?). Weighted knob. Love the weight and the feel but it does get a bit touchy with heat.

You should go with whatever knob you prefer that will fit your budget. Shift knobs are fairly opinionated from person to person, so asking the internet does nothing.
Personally I have a kartboy knob, it's a fair bit different from the momo I had, but I adapted and like it. |

a plastic knob is the way to go in my opinion. Doesn't get cold or hot, which is a BIG plus. Lathewerks makes a great version, and you can get brass inserts in it to add some weight.

i feel with a shorter shifter, a heavier knob makes me amazingly easier to shift into gear. about a year ago i bought myself lathewerks' stainless steel knob. yeah it can get a bit warm in the summer and cold in the winter, but for me that was a small price to pay for how effortless its made my shifts.

Both seem nice, but have you reviewed any of the threads taking about WC Lathe Werks?

I have been considering getting a new shift knob as well over the stock...I just installed leather shift boots (with red stitching) so I kind of want to keep that look....
http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop...nob-p-121.html Has anybody used this shift knob? Would it work with the '08+ models (I have an '09)? |

I too am debating shift knobs. Torn between the cobb and a heavier one like something from wc lathe. They have a plastic and steel hybrid, but its pricey.

BLOX 490 gunmetal (bought on ebay). Extremely nice knob and way less than a similar wc lathe works item. Boot is held on perfectly by the supplied nut.

I have the flossy grip tape heavyweight and really like it. No pics at the moment, I'll try to get some after work later. Kinda pricey, but worth it IMO.
