looks great!

So I guess we'll have to use some sort of aftermarket cat for this right?

Very clean.

Will there be options for different diameters? For example, a person running a stock or lightly modified may prefer a 1.5" to 1.625" pipe, but a person with head work and aggressive cams will end up more towards 1.75" instead. Heck, even a serious race build would step things up to 2" for the primaries. It all depends on where you want the scavenging efficiency to be.

Man that is nice finished piece for the pre 06 guys I will be interested to see the numbers vs stock vs Borla rep with that near 90 degree bend eliminated from the mix. These should flow well with the matching catback you guys are making

Probably walk to your local exhaust shop along with a cat and muffler, and go "fab up everything in between."

...not a bad way to go really, but you don't get mandrel bends from a generic muffler shop which is boo.

Really I think you'd just need a midpipe fabbed up in between the header and whatever cat back exhaust you decide to run. That isn't too hard nor expensive either.

Beautiful job guys! So are you going to be making a cat pipe to match this as well, and if so, would that be included in the price? Please dyno it soon and be sure to make a vid and post the chart. The length looks to be pretty equal, I can't wait to hear that beast purr...

It does? Besides there is no "pretty equal" when it comes to headers. Its either exactly EL or its not and none of the benefits come along with it. Some of the best looking pieces I have seen for a car, though.

Small suggestions on the dyno thing:
  • I would test a couple collector designs to gauge potential gains from an added secondary pipe + resonator. I'm not really sure how crucial this is for a 4-2-1 design though versus a 4-1 design.
  • Test with and without a tune for both stock and with the header. One gain the header offers is the ability to run a little more timing. The stock ECU will not adjust enough to show these gains.

Ok, after looking closer I now see that the one side is longer, my bad...Still looks awesome though

To keep the joint as tight as possible while still allowing for thermal expansion/contraction and relative movement, usually to avoid cracking.

Well the V-band isnt there for nothing they probably have a CBE in the works to form a full system OR they are going to adapt their current CBE's to mate up it only makes sense since you have to go full custom this this header

Would there be any longevity issues with the springs, especially with the harsh winters up in the northeast???

End of next week is the plan. Tentative of course. Final diameter out is 2.5." it has a mini reverse megaphone on it that's a bit tough to see. Collector dia. is under wraps right now.

Thanks! And right on the cat part. It's a 304 piece that is modular. it can be set up to accept either a 200 cel street cat, 100 cel race cat or a test pipe. 2 02 sensor bungs, with one bung utilizing E.G. Flow Modification***8482; technology . Cat pipe will bolt up to any cat-back exhaust that fits like the stock one does, but it will be designed around the Moore Performance cat-back.

Thanks for the compliment. This can be custom built to spec. of course we won't be able to run group buys with different sizes unless we can get a number of commitments, but We're pretty flexible for those that want to go custom. For example, we have a customer that's going to try out turbo header with smaller dia. primaries. The only limitation is physical space. A big 2" or so setup with a supercharger =

Question about cat pipe answered above. As someone had mentioned, the straight nature of the cat pipe would make it an easy fab if someone wanted to do it, but yes, they will be offered at a discount with the header. Sound clips before and after, and hopefully some video will accompany the dyno charts.

Definitely not equal length, as someone brought up. The customer wanted it unequal - sacrificing some HP for what will hopefully be a decent growl. Equal length will be an option, however.

The first test will be back-to-back without tuning since many people have no tuning abilities with these setups. The following test will be with full fuel and timing control on a MAP-based setup.

Correct! See above.

In terms of them wearing out or corroding? Springs are high-grade stainless, from the motorcycle industry; they should be good to go in harsh environments. Slip fits are slip fits - the expansion and creativity they afford (shallow merges mainly....hard to weld piping to a merge correctly if two pipes are in close proximity to one another) have a few trade-offs, but nothing too serious. N/a headers are being designed at this time with single slip fits. All of our turbo headers get double slip fits.

Do you have any equal length header design/mock up pictures you could post? I'm curious... ;-)

now all we need is dyno/cost. a 2.5 inch collector is exactly what i wanted to hear.

how does weight compare with the stock piece?

Really nice work! I'm keeping a close eye on these!

Just to clarify, are these a bolt on for the 2006+ guys, or for 2005 and below? Also, what is the price range we're looking at for these?

I'm really interested to hear sound clips before (stock) and after (moore). If there's a throaty UEL growl, I'll be buying a set.

^^^ There's a lot of off-topic chatter, unrelated info, and misinformation from people OTHER than Moore Performance. You could have just answered the question instead of being a douche.

Moore didn't post information with the pictures so I'm merely clarifying.
