Default turbo or wastegate issues???

Forgive me if this has already happened to some one but im having real problems here, i checked around as best as i could oh well...

So heres the deal i have 2005 sti running like 95k miles, i have basically stage 2 full turbo back catless, intake,ap and a greddy type s bypass recirculation if it matters....... I am having boost control issues the cars targeting 17 psi but in first and second i can only hit 11 or 12psi...... 3-6 gear seems to be ok but the higher the rpm the less boost it seems to taper...i know my turbo seals are bad im getting quite a bit of oil in the intercooler but i hear no noises or nothing unusual.... oh and as a side note since the problem occured i have been getting back fire and flames when i get off the gas, i wrote it off as the car is feeding more fuel for the pressure that the turbos not supplying.... i have reflashed the map and tried even going back to stock..... something is wrong idk what

Please help!!

I can datalog the incidents if needed aswell

Thanks

the pressure sounds normal. You arent going to build up that much boost in first Or second gear.

Are you running a protune or AP OTS?

check your wastegate actuator and swap out your bcs with a known working one.

Manual boost controller, or stock?

The only thing that - bar a fubar'd turbo - is going to inhibit that turbo is the wastegate, and/or an exhaust leak. If you run a line directly from the wastegate actuator to the compressor, you should hit boost fine. I performed this test a while ago, and used it to identify a faulty OEM EBCS. Do NOT floor the car, but it will let you know if it is solely the boost controller that is inhibiting boost, or a pre-turbo exhaust leak.

Guarantee it's your wastegate actuator. Pop the e clip off, DON'T LOSE THIS CLIP IT TENDS TO SPRING OFF SO KEEO YOUR OPPOSITE HAND ON IT, break the 10mm locking nut. One turn at a time clockwise to tighten actuator arm. Put clip back on lock the nut. Go for a drive. If still not maybe one more turn. There's gotta be a certain amount of preload to keep the wastegate closed until target boost.

Then come back and tell me I'm right.

Not sure that he should be adjusting the wastegate arm, rather than the BC if it was hitting boost before, without changing anything.

It's a possibility that it is his bcs, but the same thing happened to me, got tuned, hit full boost for a couple weeks, adjusted 2 turns clockwise to add preload on the wastegate. Hit full boost for 6 months after. I then detuned my car, stage 2 OTS, noticed I was now over boosting. Back the wastegate arm 2 turns counterclockwise everything perfect.

So preloading the wastegate arm may solve the issue..? Or it could be the bcs? Ill try it today when I get a chance and see if I can find someone with a stock bcs I can see if it works

Try the wastegate actuator first, it's easily reversible. Takes me about 7 mins including taking off heat shield.

I didn't think the WGA on the VF turbos could be adjusted.
