Default Ecutek Tuning in Colorado

Hi guys,

Lately, I've been traveling all over the US doing tuning session in Boston, NJ, Florida, etc,. I'm curious to tune some cars at high altitude. So I've been considering coming out to Colorado if there is enough interest. What I would need is 10 cars that want to get reflashed and an AWD dyno. It would likely happen during a weekend with on day reserved for dyno tuning and another day reserved for road testing.

Price per car would be approx $950 and include reflash, dyno time and road tuning. Price subject to change depending on dyno availability and daily rental rate.

Anyone interested?

Shiv

What stages were you wanting to do?
I'm all stock with a factory boost gauge.
Would you do a SubZero?

AHHHH!!! I need $950!!! Do you do payment plans or offer any kind of discounts? I'll put a banner on my windshield, and I am a good safe driver with lots of exposure!!! I think I might cry, I want to do this sooo bad!

Default Woo Hoo!

I would definitely be interested! I've been wanting to get the reflash and have been wondering about the altitude thing and how well the ECU would adjust. I have IC hoses, TurboXS stealth back with Prodrive muffler, up-pipe, and crank pulley. So I'm guessing a stage I map?

I will be watching this thread closely.

Sign me up! I already have one of your off the shelf ECUTeks, will that be a problem?

Would you do any XEDE tuning?

I can't wait!

Hey Shiv-

Would you be interested in seeing how a UTEC'd equipped car compares on the dyno . Could you give me a rough price to throw my car on the dyno to do maybe 1-2 pulls for comparison sake. Just wondering. I would love to come watch and learn if you wouldn't mind. Maybe even get my car tuned if it needs it.

Already have Stage Zero with Unichip from 1 year ago. Have really been wanting to go to Stage 1 with Ecutek reflash but I have been holding off waiting for you to get some experience with high altitude cars. This would be great.

I would be very interested. Just need to make sure I have time to get an exhaust system delivered and installed.

Any idea on time frame and location of tuning.

Put me down for maybe. I assume this would be like a stage subzero + dyno?

Also, Cobb is going to be offering their ECU reflashing for fairly cheap, and you can get their DIY flashing device for 495 if my memory serves me correctly..

joefocker-Shiv offers an ECU reflash with the ECUTek system. He does not tune LINKs to my knowledge. I doubt DIY tuning would be preferable to Shiv's tuning. The local Honda tuner that built the Sport Compact Car Magazine Honda drag car (PAC Motorsports) and the engine for the Holley CRX drag car, has had Shiv come out here to tune their TEC-II equipped cars. I'm not trying to flame you. It is a great opportunity for an expert custom tune, without commuting hundreds of miles.

Default Heck yea!!!!!!

Shiv, I am definitely interested. Sign me up. Would it be possible to do it with the XEDE system instead of ECUTEK? I may make some parts changes in the future and am planning on racing and tweaking a bit. I have a few extra rooms here in Boulder too for free.

I am interested in at least being there when you come out for sure!

I'm not sure I am ready to throw down $950 though. I just ordered your Vishnu uppipe and downpipe at the beginning of last week and it was recommended that I get the reflash done. I was going to wait until the parts came in and were installed before I decide my course with the ECU. Hopefully they will be here soon, I can't wait! woohoo!

Do you guys know of any AWD dyno in CO? Preferably a dyno dynamics, mustang or dynojet dyno. Dynapacks (which bolt on the hubs) would take too long unfortunately.

Cheers,
shiv

I think the place in called BimmerWorks or something along those lines. Word on the street is that they're a bit pricey. I'll do a little research.

Edit:

Well, it looks like the place I was thinking of was AutoWorks & the dyno is a dynapack. That is the only one in the area.

I am vishnu stage 2 with ecutek already on an 2003.

I would be interested as well though I am guessing I would pay a little less as I already have the ecutek from you. You could look at my boost issuethat we have been discussing as well at the same time.

Either way you should come up to denver. It would be valuable to see how the cars react to tuning up here. Plus it could be a ski vacation and you could take a delta dash log at 10000 feet.

Shiv,

Autosports Werks has a dynapack. I know there's another place that has a dynojet, but I can't remember the name right now.

Autosportwerks is the only dyno I know of. Count me in. Is it possible to have you bring an xede for me and tune that at altitude for me? If not I could just do the reflash.

Default SlipStream

I think there's a place in Boulder called SlipStream (or something like that) that has an AWD dyno. I'm not sure if they are still operating, but I saw a bunch of DSM guys dyno their cars there about a year ago. Not sure what kind of dyno it is. I got the impression it was sorta put together buy the guy who operates it. It was like a "normal" dyno, however (nothing connecting to the hubs). You just drove up on it, adjusted the rollers, strapped the car down, etc..
