the air isnt sucked into the coolant

the compressed air in the cylinder is forcing it way into the coolant via a bad head gasket.

So, how come there is no coolant in the cylinders?

Because the cylinder is under much higher pressure than the coolant passage.

Shenanigans, if there's a crack somewhere, fluid can flow both directions. You obviously know nothing about physics.
