Yea I went 11.02-and 11.04 on 91 oct... I wanted a 10 second pass so bad. The track prepped sucked soooo bad I couldn't get under a 1.78 60 ft.. usually on street tires I can hit 1.58-1.63

Wow. This is awesome. Just awesome.

This makes it sooooooo much easier to compare data versus what I was used to before.

This has been a huge help in dialing in my timing & AFR targets during spool for the 18G.

Kudos to you sir! I wish I had discovered it sooner!

Well, Mr. Barnhill, with the auto update to v1.2.0 of VD I'm a FAR happier camper. I can finally save my profile, which makes using the program Soooo much easier.

Thank you! Sincerely.

I owe you money now.

EDIT:
Done

I decided to do some boost vs. power comparisons tonight (just for fun). First I started with a few logs with the MBC backed out all the way. The car was hitting about 20psi and was basically flat to redline. Pulling them up in Virtual Dyno showed nice consistent results!

Because that looked good, I decided to turn the MBC up halfway to where it normally is at. I did a couple logs and it peaked close to 24psi, with a little taper down to around 22psi. Then to finish it off I turned the MBC up to my normal spot and it was just barely touching 27psi and then tapering down close to 24-25psi.

Looking at the boost and torque (for the 24psi and 27psi graphs especially) you can see that I probably did have a slight uphill for run 1 and slight downhill for run 2 of each set. This slightly affected spool and peak torque. But overall the results are very consistent.

And here is the plot with just one run from each boost setting. Solid, incremental gains with each change in boost. This is a nice, easy way to see how increasing the boost can really bump up the power (assuming the turbo is still able to flow enough air). It is great that Brad's software makes it so easy to do a comparison like this!

xluben ... good write up man. Wish people would look at the consistency you show here and rethink what they are about to say before they say its Virtual Dynos fault their runs are all over the chart (Garbage in garbage out)

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Great exposé of data once again, xluben. And further, great accompanying explanations, especially about the effects of the logging road.

While I lack your vertical numbers, this is the VD-enabled process that has allowed me to flesh out my own Stg2+ tune. By using the same road and VD to first create my tune's consistency, I'm then able to incrementally evaluate the often subtle effects of different variations within my tune. In other words, fine tune. AVCS work is almost impossible without VD, for me.

Interestingly, and again a tribute to VD, somehow all the "numbers" correlate when looking for triangulating data, such as bhp, whp, g/sec, various dyno results etc.

Yeah, if you have a nice smooth road you can definitely use it for fine tuning. Using the exact same stretch of road I'd crucial for consistency.

I posted this in the 50-100mph thread. It is another metric to back up the VD numbers.

20psi (400WHP Dynojet): 5.4 seconds
24psi (440WHP Dynojet): 4.9 seconds
27psi (480WHP Dynojet): 4.4 seconds

All of the runs were done twice (once in each direction) and the results were identical (peak numbers within 2WHP in Virtual Dyno and 50-100mph times within 0.05 seconds in the videos), so I think the results are pretty solid.

Of course this is just my car, with my powerband, and the runs were done all in 3rd gear. There will be different results once you add in one (or two) shifts, as well as many other factors. So take it with a grain of salt, but I'm just glad to see the VD numbers do seem to go up inline with the 50-100mph times going down.

its fine now. probably just something on my stupid computer.

once i restarted the program twice it started working again and I have added more profiles without issue.

premature postulation on my part.
