so if my steering wheel shakes like a monkey passing persimmon seeds when I brake...
...over 50 mph, do I need to get my rotors turned?
there is no shaking whatsoever when I cruise over 50. thanks

Maybe change your anti-shudder-under-braking fluid?

Quite feeding your car persimons?
Also had this problem on my BMW, turned out it was the control arm bushings giving the shakes between 40mph-55mph. |

If it shakes only under braking, more then likely it's the rotors. You may just have uneven pad deposits, or the rotors may not be true any more.
If the rotors look like they have sporadic splotches of brake pad material on them, you can try sanding them down to remove the deposits, and then rebed the brake pads. |

Sounds like me 8 months ago...I bought some slotted drilled rotors and replaced the stock ones.

If you mean take it and have someone else do it....prolly not.
If you do it yourself you may gain some. |

I had the same thing happen on my car after I cooked the rotors at a track day... Getting the rotors turned solved the problem.

you may need your rotors turned
you can save a bit of money by DIY (taking off the rotors, getting them machined and then putting them back on) Quote:

BTW the problem probably came from the pads not being bedded in properly, so make sure you bed them in right or it could reoccur easily.
