Default How to tell if diff is going?

I have a clunking in the rear of my car under slow to moderate speeds. I have it narrowed down to the infamous strut clunk, or possibly the diff? The clunking was not too annoying a few days ago, but after a VERY rigorous touge-style run all day yesterday, it is alot more often and annoying as hell. Could this be a diff clunk? I just want to be able to rule it out of the equation. BTW, the car is a 2004 STi. I never had diff problems before, so what do i feel for, how do i know its not the diff, etc. Thanks.

Get the car up on jack stands and spin one of the rear wheels, if the other side spins w/out much lag then you are ok...but there is probably a more in depth way to check it.

For strut clunk, bounce up and down on your rear door sills, you'll hear the strut each time if it's what's bad.
