If you have a Maxwell Power built engine chime in
I want to hear about Maxwell power hybrid engines. Chime in only you have an engine that was built by them. I'm shopping and they are high on my list.
Thanks. I've searched and came up with NOTHING.

my good friend just had Maxwell Power build him his complete 2.5 engine and all is well, can't wait for them to finish there dyno so we can see the numbers. I just bought my internals for my 2.5 build that Dom at Maxwell Power will be building.

I've never had a motor built by them, but Dom tuned my car and is a great guy. This is a local thread from Washington where multiple people who have had engines built have chimed in. You might want to send some of these guys a PM.

I can attest to how well Dom's built engines were running 3 years ago when he still lived in VA. Excellent guy who know's his subaru's and does great work.
**I've driven two cars with his motors in them. |

Micah were the built forged motors nice and quiet? Seems like a common problem with built motors is noise setting the knock sensor off resulting in a better EM option like AEM. I don't want to have to buy AEM and want to be able to retain my stock ECU. Not looking for more than 475 hp.

The motors were nice and quiet and spun smoothly.
I know Dom and I both like keeping piston to wall clearances proper. |

I am very lucky to have spent all day there with Dom, Craig, Wes and Gwen;very knowledgeable, professional and nice people.I am building my dream motor in there customer assist problem; I have spent 2 full days blueprinting[5hours with a micrometer] and assembling my shortblock, heads etc.[not done yet]. The detail they demand is amazing[Craig has been building subaru motors for airplanes for years/ Gwen flew to Alaska in one a couple of months ago]I thought we were working in a doctors office with a complete cleaning between every procedure.
I have not ran my motor yet but I have ridden in /drove 4 of there cars with rotated turbos that are so fast and streetable that they will make you forget about sex! They will build you a great motor. Michael McIntyre |

I'm sold. Maxwell Power is probably going to be the one building my EJ257. I like how they have pistons designed for the 2.0L heads for proper quench and compression.

I bought a 2.1 stroker from Wes down there. It was built for his own car, but he changed his mind and went another route. I also bought some "slighty" used built heads and had them go through them to make sure they were all good, and Dom found a bunch of stuff wrong and made everything perfect and gave me a really good deal on the parts and labor!
I don't have the motor in yet so I can't give you much, but I know it's going to be smooth like butter and be able to rev high safely for a long time! Having a properly blueprinted motor makes all the difference. They also get really crazy anal on the balancing of each part and the whole assembly. MPS is the place to go, and I'm 2 hrs drive away. |

I went for a ride in this car from NY as they were breaking it in for the customer. We drove it to lunch and I can tell you that it felt really smooth and powerfull for just a break in map and only revving to about 5k. I was like , HOLY S**T!!! It just purred at idle too. That got me really excited about my motor. And obviously that customer believes in Dom's work if it was worth it to him to drive all the way from NY, I mean who does that?

Dom says the FPRed is gonna be too small to make all the power the motor could. I say while I do want to run 10's, my wife and I also like to autox it. So I told him we'll run the red this year and if it is indeed too small I'll look into rotated kits for 2010. |

yeah that was b4 a lot of people were doing it and I wasn't told exactly where to put the MAF. Then XXTuning (Tony) couldn't tune it. Dom is going to tune it blow thru but move the MAF further down that straight section.
