Snow tires mounted up, and new windshield in (didnt want my pesky rock chip to fail tech inspection). I got a confirmed Navigator too! Primitive front and rear skid plates SHOULD arrive tuesday or wednesday at package express, last minute install on Friday. Still need the extinguisher and first aid kit stuff, but I'll grab all that this weekend! Looks like I will be number 23!!!
I do not have factory HID's but I will see about converting them. But I dont want to run into any reliability issues with lights, that woukd end a stage really quick! I'm probably going to get an M-tech light pod for the hood, with some crazy lights, but that will take more time and research to put together. With a bit of luck I'll have aux lights up and running for the Big White rally December 8-9th. Hope to see you all there? Which hotels are you guys using? Would anyone be interested in organizing a time to meet to drive up to the location together in a group? Might make the long drive more fun in a gang of subies :-D |

Hey just a heads up to anyone still getting geared up- I went to Walmart for a first aid kit as someone suggested earlier in the thread... total fail. None of the kits had all the items listed in the Rally Pacific Motorsports regs. I bought a bunch of extra stuff but couldn't find some of the items.
So just now I looked around and the contents are all in a kit from St. Johns Ambulance called the "Vehicle Kit." I'm hoping they are in stock somewhere in Vancouver... |

I was just about to go out to get a first aid kit... The guys at Wednesday's RallyBC meeting suggested London Drugs. They said it was about $50 for the kit...
However, after reading lots of pages on RallyBC's website, specifically page 2 of http://www.rallybc.com/Novice/WCRA_N..._info_only.pdf It seems like you just need a "BC basic" for TSD. Maybe the crazy huge first aid kit list I've seen elsewhere on this page is for proper Stage Rally, where there is far more danger? Either way, I doubt they will turn us away if you have a basic first aid kit... |

You know what, that might be right. Because on the Totem rally page it makes no mention of all those items. It just says "first aid kit." http://www.rallybc.com/archives/2012...Totem_regs.pdf Maybe I'm OK with the $30 Walmart kit. It seems adequate to me. |

Important note on safety equipment: The regulations on minimum mandatory first aid equipment have been updated for 2006. Because our events take place on remote roads, far from medical help, in the unlikely event of an accident involving injury, the first people on the scene will be other competitors, and they will the people best positioned to administer first aid. To that end, where the regulations used to require only a basic first aid kit, contents undefined, RPM has now defined what must be in that kit:
10 Cleansing Wipes 25 Adhesive Bandages 1.9cmx7.5cm Knuckle Bandages 4 Fingertip Bandages 2 Gauze Pads 5cmx5cm 3 Gauze Pads 7.5cmx7.5cm 3 Gauze Pads 10cmx10cm 1 Elastic Gauze Bandage 5cm x 4.5m 1 Elastic Gauze Bandage 7.5cm x 4.5m 1 Pressure Bandage 10cmx10cm 1 Abdominal Pad 12cmx22cm 2 Oval Eye Pads 10 Butterfly Closures 6 Cotton Tip Applicators 1 Tongue Depressor 2 pair Vinyl Gloves 1 pair Scissors 14cm 1 First Aid Pocket guide 1 Adhesive Tape 2.5cm x 4.5m 1 pair Tweezers 1 Cold Compress 3 Triangular Bandage - 2 extra over kit 2 Space Blankets - additional (SOS not required) |

no one is going to dig through Your first aid kit as long as it's big and red with cross on it =o)
even if You say it's missing something (like a pair of tweezers) then it'll be noted for the next time, that's all ...26 entries! and Volvo seems to be gaining popularity for some reasons =o) Last edited by alexinvancouver; 11-12-2012 at 01:09 PM. |

Congrats stu for your first place novice finish.
Congrats to James & Colin for second place novice finish. Thanks to all the volunteers who made it The weekend was sweet. Night stage cancelled due to fallen trees. Ice & snow kept it interesting. Met some good people and hope to see you all again at thunderbird |

Thanks Rice Wagon . Great show by all the members of VIC ..especially Stu and Alex .. was a real challenging weekend and subies did fine . .. Was real nice to finally make the podium and show that BC has some good rally teams . But we are a pair of 70 yr old old age pensioners . we need some support from some younger guys to kick the yanks off the podium .
PS we ran a standard impreza wagon . no turbo . You dont need a STI to do well at this game .. |

Thanks to all the workers and competitors.
It was a great battle with Norm and Kristen (Focusonme) for calculator class. In the end the beat us out by one point. Next time Norm. First time out with the Forester on a TSD and in these conditions (Ice, mud, Ice, snow, ice, gravel) and loved it. After driving Ciivc, it feels so wonderful to come out of a corner and up an icy hill under full power and full grip. Looking forward to T-Bird. Jay |

Rice wagon .. Thanks for posting the video . classic case of how fast you can get in the bank on snow and ice lol
. My theory is set the car up with oversteer so when you turn the front wheels stay on the road . I learnt a long time ago the the back wheels are attached and they will follow along if the front wheels stay on the road |
