Yeah. That's why I took the photos. The RCE sprigs are a little higher than I had my coilovers but not a lot.

I sold the 240 :/

I have driven my buddies 20gxt 08 sti a number of times. One of the funnest cars i have ever driven. His was at 21psi, 421awhp.

I bought a second tow hook cover to hack and wack and then paint. Figured it might make it look a little cleaner on the car vs not having one. Haven't seen anyone do this yet.

Also, have you thought about painting the silver wrx logos on the fender? I did mine this weekend when i did the mudflaps. I was very pleased with the results. Ill have to make a thread on the car one day.

Here's how I rank them in ride quality and handling. 0 is the stock springs and stock stuts and 10 is a very hard setup (ie. 10k spring on a coilover).

Ride Quality (lower is better):
  • RCE Black Springs and Stock Struts: 2
  • BC Coilovers with 8k Springs: 8

Handling (higher is better):
  • RCE Black Springs and Stock Struts: 4
  • BC Coilovers with 8k Springs: 8

Obviously these numbers are completely subjective and I didn't put a lot of time or testing into them. They're just my initial thoughts after driving around a bit. The ride quality feels very close to stock. It is nice and smooth. Handling is noticeably better than stock, but not nearly as composed as the hard springs on the coilovers.

Once I get the Koni's installed, I hope the ride quality will stay around a 2 or 3 and the handling will go up a bit to maybe 6 or so. I don't expect the handling to be quite as good as the coilovers on a smooth track surface, but it will hopefully be somewhat close and have much better ride quality on the street.

Yeah, the Star Specs seem to be very, very dull overall. I noticed the same thing with the last set of Star Specs I had. With the same cleaning/care they seem much less black than other tires. I haven't shined these at all, but they're only a few weeks old and already are very dull. I will probably put something on them soon.

I thought you were selling a 600WHP STI on the MN boards? Where did the 08 STI dyno at? MAP? Those are good numbers for 21psi. Do you have the license plate relocation kit installed? You really can't see what's behind there unless you specifically go look for it. It really doesn't bother me at all. I've been thinking of doing all the badges with Plasti Dip. but I just haven't gotten around to it.

His car was tuned by Topspeed can't remember it was either 421 or 412. The car is almost done on its new setup(rotated precision 5857 and all the other goodies). He ran 11.49 don't remember the trap speed.

I bought the relocation kit from the car above last night since we found out it wouldnt work with his new FMIC kit. Haven't fully installed it yet, just put it in the hole to see the fitment.

Here is a pic of my painted fender badges. I used SEM Trim Black.

That's a great time for 420WHP on TopSpeed's dyno. I think they only did 11.3 with the Dom1.5 XTR and it was dyno'ing over 450WHP on their dyno, I think. I would be very happy with mid/low 11's.

With the license plate installed, it is nearly impossible to see behind it. I have never once thought that I needed that plate back there. Those fender badges look really nice. I may have to do mine.

Are you ever going to get a front lip and tint? I think those two exterior modifications would complete the look of your car real well.

I honestly kind of despise both of those things. Lol. They tend to be two of the first things that people who only mod their for "looks" will do (that and slap on 18x9.5" wheels that weigh 25lbs with stock suspension). I almost don't want to do them just out of principal, haha.

Some days I do want tint, but it's not a high priority. A lip will almost surely never happen. Mods that are purely for looks aren't going to be too common (the tail lights are probably the exception, I hated those, lol). The tint would actually be nice when in the car, so it's still a possibility, but there are other things I'd rather have.

I've updated the first post with the current mods. I am thinking of moving the clickable links into the chronological list, instead of having a photo for each link. Then I would just get rid of all those photos in the first few posts (they are all found elsewhere in the thread). I think this would clean up the first post a bit, and make it easier to find the link to whatever you're interested in. What does everyone think?

Well from the Ricer Perspective

I like that they are all in one location. I don't see myself clicking on links to view stuff, because then I have to click back the first page... then back on a link... then back to the first page... see the trend?

I don't have a gallery for the car. All the photos have their own galleries, but nearly all of the photos ended up posted in the thread anyways.

So you just scroll through the first page and look at the one photo of each thing? I guess that's convenient, I just didn't imagine many people doing it. I liked it when I had less things, but now it seems to just be getting to be too much and I'm running out of room.

I think the beat way to fix this is to start buying parts for my car. FYI- I like the timeline that you have going on.

That doesn't work. You don't even have a build thread for your car!

Ok, I will meet you half way here. I will start a build thread... and you can start buying parts. I don't want to do it this way, but I am a friend. Friends help each other out by taking their friend's money and using it for parts for their own car. So that is what I am willing to do.
