Default air bag light help

Who in my area can help me track down my airbag problem? Passenger air bag always says off and the airbag light on my dash is on.

Im located in white lake Michigan. I am hoping someone has fixed theirs or have a code reader and can help. Thanks

That would cause the passenger air bag to always be off?

Passenger airbag is off even when someone is sitting in the passenger seat?

Do you have the stock seats in there or did you switch them out for something else? (including other subaru seats)

Answer first part of question... and check under your seats for unplugged harnesses.

Also check seat belt buckle. it talks to the Airbag system and confirms that a rider is restrained. its a small switch that gets pressed in when you buckle. sometimes spilled drinks like coffee or pop gums it up. check the seat belt plug as well. also be careful with plugging and unplugging the yellow airbag plugs. there are capacitors in the airbag system cpu that store energy to set off the airbags even as the battery gets destroyed in an accident.

Default Have the Same Problem - Can't Find Connectors Under Seat

New to this site, recently bought a 2011 Impreza. I tried to find the connectors - very limited visibility under the seat, can't see anything yellow- and when feeling around under there can't find anything that appears to be disconnected.

Can someone please provide more detail about the connectors and how to locate them?

Thanks.

This is a very flippant response to the first post of a new Subaru owner asking for help and is unable to afford a dealership.

Actually he might be on to something. Go to the dealer, speak to the parts guy. Tell him about your air bag issue and see what sensor in the seat needs replacing. Then ask him if he know where on the seat the connector might be. You might be better removing the seat bolts and pulling it out.

Default Figured it Out Via Further Researching

I discovered that the light is supposed to be on all the time, and changes depending on whether someone is sitting in the passenger's seat.
