2006 FPGreenSTI SOLD
04 GMC 2500HD Duramax CC

Default FS MA: 2006 OBP STi tasteful mods

Well it has come time for me to part ways with the car I love so much. Spent a lot of time and effort into buying this car and turning it into the little rocket it is now.

Car was bought new in January of 2006.

Just turned to 48,000 miles.

Royal Purple and K&N Oil Filter every 3000 miles. By myself or my uncles shop depending on weather/time. But I made sure to always have it done at 3000.

Car was Stock until 25,000 miles.

25,000-40,000 were Cobb Stage 2.

40,000-48,000 were the newest FP Green setup.

Transmission and Rear Diff oil changed at 36,000 by dealer.

Currently Tuned By TDC Tuning at around 20 psi on 93pump(spikes to 22 then drops to 20 for a nice torque spike ) Made 320hp/340tq. Their dyno was undergoing software changes but he said it was very good numbers on nice safe tune as it is my daily driver.

Car exteriorly has is daily driver blemishes.
1)Rock chips on the front end seeing as its a new england car.
2)Rear bumper was scuffed by my girlfriends car rolling forward in the driveway Most of it could be buffed out by a professional.
3)Minor scuffs on the bottom of the front bumper(cars lowered its hard to prevent.
4)The dreaded FMIC cutting of the front bumper, ya I'm no body work major or specialist. Its not terrible, needs a good sanding to rid of the unpainted plastic.
5)Slight ding on front pender(like a hail dent from a pebble type ding, nothing huge could have my paintless dent guy remove it)

Mechanically-
Car runs great. Tune is awsome and was hoping to try it out at the dragstrip but never got around to it. Had an issue with the oil pump which is being straightened out right now at the dealer. Only mechanical that is comming due within the new 10,000 miles would be just brake pads. They have about 30% left on them. I never abused them or tracked the car besides 2 or 3 nights at the dragstrip when i was stage 2 and only made 10 passes combined.

Goods-
Runs great
Looks awsome
New tires
Fresh oil change
Ready to auto-x or road race
New oil pump and motor is getting inspected by the dealer per my request before getting returned to me.
Interior was sprayed and is water/stain resistant! If there is a stain the dealer will professionaly clean it or otherwise order a new seat or carpet whatever it is.
Undercoating applied.
Paint coating applied. Prevents acid etching and other harmful effects.
CAR WAS GARAGED ITS ENTIRE 48,000 MILES. ALWAYS in my HEATED garage at the house when not being driven. I was afraid to leave it anywhere so I never took it out if I was not comming home.

Bads-
Brake pads soon
Minor exterior blemishes as mentioned above

Modifications-
Fp Green 2.4" Inlet, IWG, 7cm Exhaust Housing, Oil cooled
Perrin Signature Series Front Mount Intercooler
Perrin Turbo Inlet
Perrin Modified Stock Injectors
Perrin Big MAF intake
GM Boost Control Solenoid
Maddad Essentials Catless 3" Downpipe
Maddad Full 3" Whisper Catback Exhaust(BRAND NEW!)
Falken 255 Azenis Tires (only about 10,000 on them like new!)
Autopower Bolt In Rollbar with Spray on Bed Liner
Sparco 4 Point 3" Competition Harness
BC BR Coilovers(about 10,000-15,000 on them)
Maddad Ultra Gauges Boost,EGT,Oil Press(just got them so the only one hooked up is boost!)
Kartboy Rear diff support/outrigger bushings(brand new just installed like 20 miles on them!)
Walbro 255lph fuel pump

Extras or options-
Currently has Gold BBS's on it. Also have a set of Silver BBS's with 225 Blizzak winter tires on them. Will either swap them or sell you the Silvers for a few extra dollars.
I still have the stock downpipe and catback.
Still have the stock Boost control solenoid.
Gauges can be removed or you can take only boost or if you dont like the big 66mm gauges I have Maddad Clarity V2 Ti's with 52mm faces.
A'PEXi Gt-Spec Catback (had on the car and bought used but switched to maddad to try something more stealthy)
I have the stock struts if you dont feel like youll want coilovers I will swap them prior to sale.

This car is modified. Not heavily and not beat on. We all know why people buy these cars, to have fun and go fast! Many of my friends or local members know I dont abuse the car. I'm not swimming in money so I dont want to have to fix things. As you can tell my stock clutch has withstood a good amount of power and does not slip at all. We will discuss this at time of sale as its modified I am not liable for anything that happens after the sale.

Car has the Subaru Gold Extended Warranty or whatever they call it, the 6 year 80,000 mile warranty. It is not red flagged in the system for mods or anything.

ASKING PRICE-

$27,000 or Best Reasonable Offers.

Please PM me with any questions you may have or respond here.

Car is in Fitchburg,MA and can be viewed in person if need be.

Shipping of the car can be arranged assuming you have a carrier in mind and we can arrange some sort of deal(im pretty easy going and open to anything!)

Looking to get rid of the car pretty soon, winters comming and I had to reprioritize life and I am now in need of a work truck. I already have it picked out and on hold. If this doesn't go here its most likely going to a dealer to sell for more so pick this up now if your interested!

Pictures-(most recent have a silver wingless trunk on the car, was going to have it painted but I put my winged trunk back on. If interested feel free to ask me about that!

(not interested in your car (read: poor), just asking questions for potential buyers)

they are going through it to make sure nothing else is wrong but as soon as the light came on and the valvetrain noise got a little loud i stopped and had it towed...not stupid im not going to run it till something serious goes wrong...

to everyone else.....your not buying the car.....clearly i stated the cars at the dealer getting repaired for the oil pump and im having it completely gone through...

and im not selling because the oil light came on......

ive got other things i need to take care of and don't need the car.....im actually buying a truck.....

im not going to sell a broken or damaged car....i brought it to the dealer for a reason....i originally planned to work on it myself but i need to get it fixed and either trade it in or sell it....

im sorry to say that there isnt much with the valvetrain that can make noise. any loss of pressure OR flow will damage the crank/rod bearings before the valvetrain will be affected. not saying low oil pressure or flow is good for the heads but the cams turn at 1/2 the speed with almost no load so you can be "ok" for a short period of time.

my $.02

psssssttt: i have a complete 06 motor with 27,600 miles on it sitting at the house, $3900.00 and its yours

Ted i was going to ask if you had that still....

but the dealer said its the oil pump.....i asked them to please check through everything to make sure nothing else is damaged, which included pulling everything apart....i only drove the car 500 feet or so after the light came on and i heard some elevated noise...then it was towed, its not a loud sound it sounded like elevated valvetrain noise like it had starved the top end of oil..........im going there right now actually....ill have a complete diagnosis in about an hour......

also, the car did not studder or die on me i just heard some elevated noise most likely from oil starvation somewhere....

i know i am afraid the bearings may be damaged but there was no bearing material in the oil from what we saw so i may be safe since i shut it right down at the first sight of the oil light...

thanks!

been into the stuff my whole life...

i paid the car offf so its not that its money issues for me....

its more that i wanted to get into trying auto-x with it and stuff but that will ultimately send me into financial issues...

ive realized my life is more geared towards a truck and maybe once im out of college ill be able to pick up a new sti or something to get back into this fun hobby!

i had a ton of fun with the suby....i just had a realization with it being towed and a repair bill comming that with auto-x there will only be more repair bills since its modified, i daily drive it quite a bit (48,000 in just under 2 years), and auto-x/racing will only add stress and repairs to the list...

the car is in GREAT mechanical shape....like i said only other thing would be break pads within the next 10,000 miles......they arent extremely low but worth mentioning to potential buyers....

not one person here i can guarantee has ever seen me beat on the car.....i take extremely good care of it.....the whole tuning this was a kick in the balls to me and i wish it didn't happen....i wish i didnt get rid of the Cobb AP to begin with to be honest.....lesson learned stage 2 was fun enough

now that my cars tuned right and ran right prior to the oil issue i was very happy with the upgrade...

autox is $30 per event if your an SCCA member. you already have everything you need, and i don't see how it will add stress and repair bills. why not just keep your exhaust, get a TMIC, VF39, and get tuned and call it a day?

but hey, to each his own.

good luck with the sale.

So you do or do not know that the engine is in great mechanical shape? It hasn't been diagnosed yet, however you claim that you know what the problem is and that it is in great shape. Apparently you don't understand how oil pumps work, because they don't partially fail. Your motor is has damaged rod bearings from miles and miles of knock.

are you buying my car or thinking of it?

if not then i belive there is a rule in the for sale threads about it....

and i should have had you tune it your saying, when i saw an 07 sti you did that knocked like crazy

my car was running way too much fuel causing the misfiring/knock from ESP.....i only had got on it a few times other than not being on the dyno because i knew it wasnt right....which is why i ended up going somewhere else....other than that i daily drive it to work and school and not really anywhere else for miles since it ran like crap....it never once threw a code because the misfiring or knock was so bad....

they have told me the oil pump failed.....

they are going to tear it apart and go further to see if something caused it to fail or if anything else is damaged....

the car will be fixed and fixed correctly.....im not going to have them half ass the job for the cheapest price....if the shortblocks junk itll get a new one.....

which means the car will be in GREAT MECHANICAL SHAPE when its out of the shop.....it was prior to the issue with good compression on all cylinders and no smoke from the exhaust or anything to hint of major mechanical issues....

now that everyones made their assumptions, judgements, stupid comments, bashing etc.....on with the for sale post not a discussion

I was asking a legitimate question about a vehicle for sale. Your comments about the problem are contradictory and confusing. I was hoping that you could clarify, which you have, sort of. The horrible lack of grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and spelling make it even more difficult to decipher the meaning of your postings.

I don't think that you are in a position to judge any of my work on any grounds. One instance of a vehicle with problems is no basis for that comment. Your lack of understanding and immaturity shows in your postings. Anyways, good try and good luck with the sale.

so your saying it doesnt add to increased wear on brakes, tires, suspension parts?

regardless of entrance fees it adds up.....just cant keep spending money....the cars only going to dig me deeper if I start doing any kind of racing.....thats why i havent even been to the drag strip.....

i would just need a vf39 really and a stock like intake....(big maf would just be a pain in the ass to retune) modded injectors would be fine....so ya just the turbo would be good....the front mount isnt going to decrease reliability, but neither was the fp green in my mind....

the other viable option was the turbo burned some oil(being oil cooled only) which caused the pick up to get clogged and the pump to go dry and fail.....

someone also mentioned the increased noise could have been the turbo being starved of oil or being clogged from burning some oil and making noise....

ill have a complete diagnosis of everything soon but for now its an oil pump failure they are saying its not putting out any pressure...

but early good signs are no grayness, or pieces of rod bearings in the oil.....cars never consumed any oil either....so thats another good sign

sure it has some wear, but the parts are performance oritented to begin with, so autoxing isn't really going to accelerate failure, not to mention they are designed to be raced/competed with...in stock form the STi is practically a street legal rally car, not to mention your car has coilovers.

besides tires and entry fees, i havent spent a dime on my car due to autox. and i've done almost 20 events this summer, not to mention 2 track days, and 2 rallyx's. leave the car stock, or close to (stage 2), and you won't have problems, it's a subaru.

regardless, sorry to hear about your issues.

bump again for this

true but i know it will somehow start adding up for me

ive just talked to a few guys who have gone through brake pads and tires like crazy...maybe they just drive way too crazy

regardless of all that though i still would like to and semi-need to get back into a truck...

the oil/mechanical issue just kind of put me over the edge decision wise...im not going to sell someone a car thats going to blow up within 500 miles which is why im willing to spend the money to replace whatever is necessary....

im not going to be a scam artist and part the car out and deny its been modified....its just pretty basic fp green and supporting mods....nothing crazy.....going back to a stock size MAF may be a better idea for this car if your not going to get meth but i was considering meth at the time but never jumped on it...

ive had a number of people interested in this, and rightfully so even despit everyone in NESIC trying to shoot me down

the cars in great shape and the motor will be solid after it is diagnosed and gets whatever repairs it may or should need....

buyer has the options of the following:

-wingless silver trunk
-gold or silver bbs rims w/summer or winter tires
-gauges
-exhaust setup

i mean its definately a great deal...obviously your going to get a motor you know is good since the dealers going through it and giving it the ok after they repair wat they feel is necessary and you know they are going to nickel and dime me for anything probably...your going to get some good solid mods and a well taken care of car...interior is clean as could be....

i mean look at the pictures i am extremely happy with the way it turned out...only other thing i wished to do really was a v-limited....rims were an idea but i wanted some volk ce28 time attacks those arent cheap..
