Yup we are going to go to UNO's up in the Millbury Plaza. Hopefully this time we can actually eat there and not have to go somewhere else like last time. Bonus is that cold stone is right there so we don't really need to rush out of there to go. The meet starts at 7 but since its getting warm out we get there a little earlier.

Im new to the community and to The world of wrx/sti's. I recently bought an 02 Wrx but the kid I bought it from said it needs a new shortblock. The car may need a battery cuz it turns on wit a jump, drives but it has lost power. I want to find out exactly what's wrong and fix it but don't have any sources to go to. I live in Worcester and would like to know any shops that deal wit subaru's or a specialist in my area.

I've heard really good things about Brentuning and they are nearby!

If it needs a shortblock that's probably why it's low on power. A new battery wouldn't cause the car to be down on power once its already started.

BrenTuning doesn't do mechanical work, IIRC. Only Calibration.

You should really make a new thread about this. You posted in a meet up thread.

What color is the car? Any distinguishing details?
Have you asked the guy you bought it from about the issues? I'm assuming since he said it needed a new shortblock, that it was an "as-is" sale. If it needs a new short block, I think a new battery is the least of your concerns.

Its fine it doesn't really matter to me that you asked in here. The problem is your issue is very hard to diagnose over the internet as there could be one major thing or a bunch of little ones that could solve the issue. However if the person selling you the car said it needs a new short block that's a pretty major problem. As far as people local to the Worcester area who are Subaru specific mechanics I really can't think of any of the top of my head. I use one shop in the area but he doesn't really build motors and is so swamped with getting cars ready for show season he really won't have time to look at it. Most of the Subaru specific shops are located out of the state. A good place to ask this would be the 508 subies facebook group who might be able to give you idea's of local Subaru mechanics more than me.

Its hard to say what time we will be at coldstone. Sometime's we are in a restaurant for an hour and other times its over 2. I can update the thread latter once people get there for a better idea. But we also hang out before we go in and people usually arrive around 6:30ish anyways. A lot depends on how long it takes for service and how many people show up to the meet. We will be having a caravan headed down to WBM this year from the area however it won't be setup till about a month before the show. I'm also not certain if I will be running it depending on if I go down the night beforehand.

Thanx for the response on both. I will be there around 8 & may just look at the cars if no one is around (shouldn't be hars to find the group)
I figured there would be a caravan just wondering.

Sorry we missed you. Took longer than we expected when it came to paying. I think we walked outside just after 9 too. That car is ben's and he finally able to drive it after almost a year out of commission. It will be at the next few meets before it is off to paint for a month or so.

I've had good luck with bravo Auto for doing all sorts of random little repairs he's not a Subaru exclusive place but he does seem to work primarily on imports.

In other news I am working back in the state, so I should be able to come out to the next meetup. Been a few years since I have seen most of you.

Wife has the 07 now, I have acquired a new 2013 that I will likely be driving.

I think the last time I saw kraig I was hopped up on the good drugs in the ER two years back.

Glad you were able to make it and have some fun. So actually on the ball this week we are going to be doing a joint meet with the Leominster/Fitchburg group this week. We are going to Buffalo Wild Wings out in Fitchburg. There is a ton of parking and the manager has been given a heads up a large group of people will be there Monday night. Last time there were 30+ cars that showed up so hopefully we have the same turnout again this time.

mf07sti is right, the "Workin Progress" car has been out for over a year. Sadly its not a couple weeks but after UConn this sunday she is going for paint. Yet another month or so I dont get to drive my damn car. I am praying itll be done for WBM. Looks like I will still be vending with a friend at WBM, just working out the little details and getting money over to rob, so I'll be down there the night before and have to miss the caravan.
