Two questions:

1) Does it leave an obnoxious white residue on body plastics?

2) How would you compare it to something traditional like Zymol's caranuba based waxes?

I've been using a paint sealant called Zaino, that my buddy who used to detail Ferraris uses, and the results are outstanding, but I have considered trying something new.

Yeah, its kinda hard to beat a "wipe on and leave it on" sealant that makes rain bead up like crazy for SIX MONTHS per application.

But I AM interested in the wax that the OP mentioned, I'm hoping others will come in and compare it to something I've used before.

I've used it on my Charger(DD), possibly the Taurus? and the WRX and it's good. IMO it enhanced the color a very slight amount, my girl thought so too and left a nice glossy look. I have washed the car once and it did bead up very well on the WRX. I'd say it would be good for someone wanting a quick wax job if you will. I wouldn't suggest it for a showcar though.

Collinite 845 lasts at least 10X longer, and is cheaper to buy than NXT. NXT is not as great as everyone makes it to be.

I've used NXT 2.0 for a while and liked the results. From my experience, if you don't leave it on there to cure long enough it won't last. My old routine was to wash, dry, apply to the entire car and then wipe off. Based on this routine, it would last 2-3 weeks and maybe two washes. Now I wash, dry, apply, wait 30-45 minutes and then wipe off. I noticed the wax lasted much longer than the old method and I suspect it will last longer if I wait even more.

That being said, I just recently gave a go at Autoglym HD and it's definitely an awesome wax. We'll see how long it lasts! I may try putting NTX over it just to give it a second coat too.

I've found this to be the case with basically all waxes that aren't natural (caranuba) based.

I think the synthetic waxes have some solvents in them that need time to evaporate away, leaving the wax behind to cure.

I've been using Einszett Glanz, lasts longer.
The bottle says I should only let it stand a minute or two only then wipe off.
Doesn't that seem too short?

Then I top it off with a coat of Meguiar's 26...gives it the deep wet look.

....it should be clarified that the only WOWA (wipe on, walk away) sealant Zaino carries is CS (unless something has changed recently). Their ever popular/flagship Z-2 and Z-5 sealants are traditional "wipe on, let dry, wipe off" products. If someone is interested in trying a WOWA sealant though, I would recommend checking out Optimum Opti-Seal and Ultima Paint Guard Plus.

For those who may be interested in the rest of the Zaino line-up but can't get passed the cost, you might want to look into Duragloss. Several of their products have been directly compared to Zaino in having strikingly similar characteristics. ....but are more affordable and more readily available. Just do a search on detailing forums like Autopia using keywords like Zaino and Duragloss to find the comparisons. There have been several threads from users of both who have pointed out the similarities each. IIRC there is even one thread specifically outlining each Zaino product and its match from the Duragloss line.

Yes indeed I should have made mention that I specifically use the CS (Clear Seal) version that is a WOWA application method.

I usually get all of my detailing stuff from Autogeek, but if you guys have suggestions for other sites, I'm all ears.

They claim that if you combine it with another product they sell, you can actually get water to bead for 9 months per application, but I've never tried it that way.

I just wash with a strong soap to remove all wax and such (two bucket method), then clay the car, then wash again, then shammy it dry and apply the Zaino CS.

If you apply it on VERY clean paint, it does last forever, its kinda crazy.

Ugh.. I cringe at the thought of claying. Any tips on making that whole process less painful? It takes sooo long. I wish I had a detail bay that I could spend hours in, but I don't.

I always found it to be the easiest part of a full detail, wax application and removal is much more tiresome than claying a car.

I have a rolling stool and I just sit on that and clay the car, one panel at a time.

Unless the car is WAY covered in rail dust or tar, I usually just use the light clay, no reason to use the heavy duty stuff unless the car is really bad.

^If you find waxing tiresome, you must be applying too much product.

Maybe I'm doing it the wrong way.. I bought the meguair's clay kit. I spray the quick detailer to wet the area, then drag the clay along the surface to pick up all the little bits. Maybe I'm just too anal about it and want to get every little imperfection out. I usually wash, clay, polish, then wax. Next time I'll just target the real problem areas.

No, I detailed for a living for years, I just always found wax removal to be the most annoying step of an exterior detail.

I'm not talking about trying to "buff" off a few millimeters of caked on wax that hasn't even cured due to its thickness....lol....I'm talking about buffing off a perfectly normal amount of say, caranuba based Zymol.
