Can you do OBD1 GMC's? If so, can you burn memcal chips for, oh...lets say a 1991 GMC Syclone?

What do you mean, sticky throttle? Does it respond really sluggishly or does it just take a while to stop spinning after full throttle input?

I've talked to the creator of that map, and a few other people, and there is nothing that would make the throttle "stick". I'll look at it, but the other cars ive tuned w/ this exact map have had absolutely no problems with it. Henry, PM me so we can set up a time to log, that will tell is if its truely sticking or not.

He says that when he lets off of WOT, it feels like the throttle is still on the floor for a second after the throttle is off the floor. Gabedude gave a real good explanation on what it probably is. I'll post it here in a few.

Me - Okay so I flashed my buddy's 07 TR. Everything has been fine since the flash (2 weeks ago) until Saturday. He did an autox event and he said the throttle is sticking.. Not just a noticable stick, but a scary stick. I was wondering if it could have ANYTHING to do with the dbw mapping, or if it might be a mechanical failure? I haven't got to log the car yet to get an actual log showing 0***37; pedal and an elevated tb opening percentage.. but if he can feel it, im pretty sure its gotta be doing what he says it is. He had another guy drive it as well and he also noticed it..

Gabe - Sticking as in he had to shut the car off? The DBW cars have some lag in them when you let off the throttle. If you push the throttle in and let off real quick, the rpms will climb for a split second (like the throttle is sticking), but will soon come down. It is by design.

Me - Not having to shut down, but felt like it was still WOT for a moment or 2..

Gabe - It may be a mechanical issue. When you let off, it should only rev about 200-500 rpm more then drop or so. If it keeps revving for more than a second, then worry about part failure. Once the accelerator angle is at 0, then everything should start to shut down. The maps really have little effect on this, and it is not changed from stock that much.

Me - Thats what i was thinking, i just wanted to make sure i was correct..

Gabe - Yeah that DBW behaviour is normal.

If you look up "gabedude" you will see that he is a very well known open ecu tuner, and he has created more than half of the open ecu maps that people are using.

Yeah Henry, my map does the exact same thing. It is call POWER! (and drive by wire >>) Get used to it and learn to not punch it every chance you get, that is exactly what I have to learn on the auto-x course

It wasn't so much Henry having a problem with it, as much as me. I never expreienced this with my friends moderately modded STi, so I guess I will just have to let off the gas way before I enter a corner. I'm used to going into a corner, letting off the gas, mashing the brakes, rotate the car, and get back on the gas without the worry of having this lagging.

Thats the problem though Henry. It shouldn't take it a second. A second is the difference in you rear-ending someone, and not. It just seems it would be unsafe, as Justin already stated that he had a similar problem while in traffic the other day.

I don't know its just me, I like to be in 100% control of the car I'm in.

Just another VF34. My other one took a dump and had been modified a bit, so the new one will be slightly different.

It was somewhat ported. The compressor housing was chewed up in the past and Dale cleaned it up. The wastegate was ported too just to prevent any kind of boost creep issues.
No, I don't need a cripple map, the turbo is out of the car and the car is on stands. Thanks ^^.
