Yes sorry, i got ts mixed w bb. Id rather have a good size bb turbo, ts is grat but i cant wait for them, i just cant see them finding a big enough turbine housing to make this work right...

Yeah in order for this to work out it needs to be a large step above a stock VF36/37. If we can get a stock location TS doing 400-450whp at a reasonable price then count me in. Even better if it's BB and TS

Got ahold of Blouch! Custom downpipe will still be required... Who has a blown VF37 for sale?

Got VF36 rebuilt by Blouch. GT 2871R comp. 52 trim wheel, ported compressor housing and it's laggy as hell even on 2.5 AVCS!
JFYI dyno plot on my previous engine 2.0L non-AVCS:
http://storage.elektrowave.org/downl...t_AA2743HM.gif
That was maximum I could squeeze from my previous setup with this turbo.

What thats just crazy! Besides it being laggy, you didn't make hardly any power off a setup like that hmmm...

On my last tune with the turbo and EJ205 (non-AVCS) engine the car made 278 WHP 270 lb/ft of torque then BB CHRA failed with huge oil leak and as a result I've got rod knock because of oil starvation. No dyno plots yet with the same turbo and new EJ255 built engine but according to RomRaider log I can hardly hit 21 psi even in cold weather.

Interesting... I expected better from Blouch. Local shop here wants me to go with Tomei. I want a VF42. What to do?

Not sure about VF42 but Tomei is NOT a good idea. Just look at these plots and you'll see why:

On 2.5 + 6MT swap it's OK! I'll try to post some dyno plots next week.

i'm very interested in seeing those plots. i had a lot of hope in upgrading my vf37 but for the first time i'm having second thoughts. i was shooting for the 345-355whp mark with some decent spool.

I did a dyno tune this weekend with a v8 EJ207, VF37 20g by deadbolt with port/polish/clipped fin, TMIC, exhaust (cat in midpipe) and short ram intake..........and it's laggy as all hell........ doesn't hit 20psi till over 5000rpms.

I'm probably going to go back to a stock VF36/37 because this is horrible. I did a conservative tune and only managed 290whp/230lbs (no torque due to slow spool). Apart from the spooling problem the ambient temps in the engine bay were really high which held us back with the MAF....... need a turbo blanket/shields and to redo the intake setup.

Apart from that the one plus was that it pulled all the way up to 7600rpms with boost falling from 22 to 16psi.

Yeah that is the bright side, but I viewed this as a baseline to work from........ I have much more planned. It's got solid top end and should trap around 110+ as it sits........ can't wait till it's where I want it...... trapping 120+

EDIT: Forgot to mention it was around 90 degrees and really humid when I got the tune.

do you think your spool will improve much with the future plans you have?

my pe1825 doesn't hit 1.5 bars up untill 3900 either on 2.12 motor v/avcs, and that is with every spool-improvement mod possible
apparently whatever you do to the stock 36/37, you just make them worse
I am debating whether to put my ported 36 back on the car...

also, we had a similar setup as Shylight mentioned, with 20g wheel in a 37, and had same crappy results, it was very lazy

Are you running the stock exhaust? That would be a HUGE limiting factor considering the jdm stock is 2.25"...

My plans include ditching the pe1825 for a stock vf36/37/42 and waiting for someone to come out with a good stock location TS.

i'm curious how well turn in concepts twin scroll is running. i had high hopes of upgrading my vf37. other twinscrolls on the market will be ridiculously expensive.

So I talked to Clint, from Turn-in-Concepts(awesome guys, very knowledgable, buy their stuff!), and he's let me in on some great news. I hope he doesn't mind me saying but they plan to get their blouch twin scroll vf37 tuned towards the end of the week. The turbo is spooling relatively fast. 10psi @ 3500rpm without a tune. Pretty exciting news! Can't wait for the results!

I'm really curious to see what they've done to get quicker spool out of a redone vf37. I saw another member with the blouch and terrible lag.

He also mentioned some details about a car in Europe with the same turbo, minus the 2.5l i think, and it made around 466whp on e85. that is awesome power.

Car is back together (sort of). Going up to be dropped off for tuning. I'm just going to leave it there and they'll try and squeeze it in when they have time. That gives them some flexibility as they won't have me looking over their shoulder.

As for the car - the center diff is still flipping out. gotta take a look at that. I suspect I know what's going on there.

The old tune was on an apv1 and AVCS was not touched. The new tune will have avcs tuned.

Other than that nothing else will have changed on the car from the VF37 to the Blouch setup.

Stock bottom end
Stock cams
Stock heads
walbro 255
660cc injectors
~85K miles

Nothing special on the motor for this one. Based on the miles, and how much we'll be pushing into it I wholly expect it to pop sometime. When? Not sure. Won't hurt my feelings when it does happen.

At that point we'll look into doing some trick stuff with the motor.
