So you've confirmed spark? You said the pump primes, have you pulled a line off and verified that fuel is getting to the rail and that there are no stoppages? Did you check the timing? Sounds silly but are all the fuses good?

No spark pulled coilpack to test got nothing no voltage for ignition pinouts. Checked for fuel yes. Timing has been set correctly, checked 2x. Yes all fuses are good. It's got new plugs and new coilpacks too

I don't get it - you bought a 2005 STi KNOWING it doesn't start, KNOWING it has a bunch of parts hacked into it, and yet you still blame the car? You're an idiot - stop throwing parts at it on a wild goose chase. Take it apart and check it.

You're 100 percent positive all fuses are good? I have got my ass kicked a few times from a stupid 10amp fuse......

Have you made sure that you're getting a signal from the crank position sensor on the front of the block? Make sure that you have continuity through your new harness and that the sensor outputs some sort of voltage when cranking. I believe the ECU will not power the coilpacks without a crank signal.

And, as others have stated, be sure all fuses are good.

How's throwing parts at it replacing the harness with a known good harness bc the dash harness was hacked from the previous owner alarm install. It would have eliminated whatever short or open circuit on the old harness. So you tell me, guy, how is that throwing parts at it? Are you a certified Subaru mechanic? Do u have years of experience working on electrical systems on vehicles and diagnostics? No? Ok. So let me reiterate, valued comments from people who can back it up are accepted. When people like yourself don't have anything of real value to say about this issue? Please do go jump off a bridge with your running car, bc I unlike you have an actual technical issue which is why this post is here. Not to listen to your "I told you so" and "you should know your limit." Seriously, the people already on this one day old post that have attitude problems, take it somewhere else. Need actually feedback not douches with no real background on this matter. Thanks an have a terrible day.

Roger that. I will look into it. Could that sensor go bad at all? Isn't just magnets?

Tough guy in Alaska. Go away. I can use technical feedback not your dick beaters typing away nonsense on my thread.

Give cobb tuning a call and if possible get your car to them. if it doesn't have to do with that alarm system being in there, there is good chance they can give you the best info on getting it running. They are the only shop i trust my car with and they have the most experience with stis. these guys really know there stuff and you dont have to worry about there 22 year old that thinks they know everything about cars. But that alarm would really worry me my friend had a viper system hooked up to his truck and even after the system was removed the car would not start. For that i would directly contact the vendor of the alarm system and see if there system puts some sort of lock on the car, as this was the case for my buddys truck.

Key needs to be programed to the ECU. You didnt say anything about it being programed to that! Doesnt matter if you used the same key and ignition from the new stuff you bought if you used the origional ECU from youre car!

If you used a different ECU and it came from the car in which the new harness came from, I still suggest checking that it is properly programed to it.

BTW, at 22 I was already a Subaru Master tech (im 29 now and still doing it)..... Ive been turning wrenches since i was 7 years old. Built my first Blown small block Chevy Engine when i was 13. Dont discredit people that fast. You dont want people assuming you that you were probably some Base camp hero in the Military who sat behind a TV screen calling him self a War vet now would you? No you wouldnt.

* Ill add this too, If the car is cranking and not firing, its Ignition or fuel related. If you feel that the wiring is NOT an issue. Then you need to check the mechanical aspect. Like fuel pressure, make sure its putting out at least 41psi. Pull out a coil pack and a plug, put the plug into the coil pack boot and let the spark plug contact touch the block (creating a ground, or complete circuit). If you have proper fuel pressure and spark, then get a Nod light kit and check that the injectors are firing/opening.

If the issue isnt found in one or more of those components, you have a nightmare on youre hands and it wont be fun.

Ya lol im actually 22 but i was just refering to his snide comment about not trusting someone like me that has done all my work myself. So i was just suggesting cobb cuz they really are the best of the best.since he unfortunately thinks that someone like myself is of no use for relaying car information.

I'm an aerospace engineer with experience in electrical design - I work on the electrical system on the international space station, and I've been working on Subarus for over 10 years. If I had the STi, the engine would be out, the harness would be out, and the dash would be out and I would be checking everything over. You're generalizing that an 05 STi is a bad car all around just because the one you bought happens to have been mistreated and modified by an idiot. Now, it seems like it found another idiot owner.

This is an engine. It's not rocket science. I needs three things to start - fuel, air, and spark. You obviously checked fuel, seems easy to check. Have you check for spark at the plugs with the new ECU? Unplug the MAF - does it start then? Any CEL? No spark at plugs, then disconnect the coil pack from the harness and check the harness. No power at harness? Get one end of a probe on your coil pack side, other end at ECU side and check for continuity. Rule out the harness. Then check at ECU output - you checked it with the old 05 ECU - what about the new ECU? No output from the new ECU? Are you sure key and immobilizer are paired? Get an o-scope and start checking sensor outputs (cam sensor, crank sensor, etc). Check the timing belt - it takes 20 minutes and all you have to do is remove the timimg belt cover to make sure it's timed correctly.
