well it started off with my maf voltage being way to high(1.5-1.6) at idle.(meaning preturbo leak?) So I retightened the maf, pressure tested and found no leaks. Next log looked ok except my a/f readings were in the 14-16's. And they would not lean out. I dicked around and played with a few things and couldn't find anything wrong. Then I was starting another idle log and kick the air blower on and my a/f reading went from 15 down to 11.0? Clark has no fricken idea of whats going on.....

Im going to try and get another MAF and see if that makes a diff.

Is everything being verified via front o2 and wideband? Or is it just one or the other that's off? I can't think of why you're having that kind of issue. :/

So apparently there's no rotors that will work for 5x114 hubs and 4/2 pot setup. So I have to order kns gravel spec rotors for front and rear.

Ugh!

Is it just the diameter that is off? If so, buy some then have them turned down.

DBA actually makes the Gravel Spec Group N Rotors for the Subaru 4/2 POTs. The biggest problem is that the Subaru 4/2 POT's use the same diameter rotor as any WRX, but the Rear Hubs on an STI are designed for the R180 hub and the parking brake and hub diameter is larger. So you need to have a different Rear Rotor that will fit over the Parking Brake for the R180 Hubs. The Grave Spec rotors have existed ever since 1999 or 2000 I believe when Subaru upgraded the GC8 STI to use the R180 Rear Diff. That is when these R180 hubs were made, but they were still drilled to the 5x100 Bolt Pattern. It wasn't until 2005 STI when Subaru went to the 5x114 that there was no corresponding rotor that would work because the bolt pattern was different. The fix was just to have the Gravel Spec Group N Rotors Re-drilled to the 5x114 bolt pattern. However DBA now makes the Gravel Spec Group N Rotors drilled for 5x100 and 5x114.

Ok that was a super lengthy and probably not needed explanation, but that will educate everyone on the Gravel Spec Group N rotors for the Subaru 4/2 POT's for anyone using R180 Hubs.

Hey guys, just picked up the 04 sti a couple days ago. I've got a lot of work to do on her, but she's an 04 Aspen White sti that has not been really modded with 50k miles.

If you like being around bros and guys that will **** on your car if you have anything done, or if it's stock (damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda thing).

I've never been, but I've been around the car scene and bike scene for long enough that I knew what it'd be, and everyone who has been there has confirmed it.

Aron, I'm leaning on Wilma to leave here by 7, which puts us there around 2. I'll give you a heads up when I'm an hour out.

Congrats on the new STi man. Was it a local find or did you truck it in?

I'm going to be making it a small project car. It is currently my new daily driver. The project for this may be a bit mundane, but I'm not going to be doing heavy mods. My plan for it is to make it look brand new from factory. It's currently stock, as I have mentioned before, but the bumper, side skirts, driver side front fender, wheels and bits here and there need some work. So, I'll be having fun driving this around and fixing it up.

I'll be honest, I want that deep throaty subaru grunt, but I wouldn't want to do that with the rest of the car being stock.
Are there any modifications I can do to make the car OEM+? Maybe, a downpipe?

I really don't want to dump another $20k into this car like I did with my other. Some of you may know my BMW e92 335i..

Here's how my e92 looks today.. Haven't driven her in a week due to the excitement of the STi.

On a different note, are there any local things that happen? I'd like to get acquainted a little... Only because, I know I'll run into some problems and will need some help and it would be nice to learn more about these.

The car belonged to my girlfriend's brother; whom passed away years ago. He bought the car in maybe 06 with 27k miles. Since then, the car has been driven by her old father who doesn't care for it, saw it as only a car, and only put 25k+ miles on. It was a car up north 3 hours away.

Yeah Nick, we can install them whenever you want.

Anyone have any strings they can pull to get me in to a high mileage WRX or OBS? This wagon of mine is fantastic, but I need a project or I'll go bat**** crazy.

Bdubs on Alpine, Tuesday at 6 would be epic. Or what about another parking lot meet? We need to capitalize on the good weather while we have it!

Or maybe that's just the wine talking..

If you want the Subaru rumble, it's easiest to get that with a turbo back exhaust and a tune (your car really should get a tune anyways just to make it perfect, but especially so with any engine mods). The price range is completely up to you. An eBay turbo back will cost 350 and get you what you want, or you can spend 1500 and get a legit Perrin or Cobb unit.

If you plan to keep it all stock, but you want the rumble and will be getting a tune for that, I'd recommend a nice drop-in panel filter and a turbo back. The STi has the best stock up pipe so need for an upgrade, and everything else performs well at the 300whp range you'll be at with a tune. Nothing else needs to be addressed unless you start craving 400+.
