Default TPMS light is driving me CRAZY!!

What the heck do I have to do to get this light to stay off?!
I have 4 brand new wheels, 4 brand new tires and getting brand new sensors i thought would be all fine and dandy. HELL NO!
First 4 sensors all malfunctioned. Some shrader piles of junk off of rock auto. Returned all 4.
Got 4 new sensors from napa and now the light was going on intermittently. Mind you the sensors i got from napa were the same model as a single sensor that was installed in my old steel wheels and worked 100% fine.
Today the little sucker stayed on. All 4 sensors are reading fine at 37 ish psi. But the shop i stopped by could not re-learn them to the computer. I be damned if i am paying the shop to take even one of the tires off again. 4 brand new sensors the second time around and still giving me a headache the size of canada.
Is there anything to check before i tear my dash apart and cut the led off of the cluster? I am so sick of that little ANNOYING ORANGE LIGHT!!!!
any helpful suggestions welcome. Will be taking it to a different shop tomorrow morning for another look just in case the shop here in town is incompetent.

I don't want to go into the dash. I shouldn't have to. I like my car to be 100% even if it means spending money to get 1 little light on the dash to behave. A little OCD like that. I consider this car a long term investment hence why i have done as much as i have to it. Valve cover gaskets. Timing belt, oil pump, plugs wires and coil pack, new wheels, tires, and tire pressure sensors. replaced front bumper cover and even spent the ridiculous price of $204 to have a spare key made. Maybe when I get some disposable income going i may invest in remote start but the DANG TPMS LIGHT must be shut off.

Are you running a radar detector? I've seen issues with interference before with a guy running one in his truck. Also the fact you are running aftermarket could also be part of the issue. OEM is always best

did you drive your car on the highway for a few miles? apparently bringing it up to like 55 mph and driving for a mile will allow the computer to clear the low pressure light. idk, i read that a few years ago in the owners manual. i have noticed the correlation that if i drive around town after topping off, sometimes the light wont clear for a while. also, how are you programming these sensors? you have to tell the tpms computer what identifier # is for each sensor, you cant just swap these things willy nilly. there are some tools you'll need. do a quick search on here, this topic has been covered ad nauseam.

Stock alloy wheels are more spendy than the aftermarkets and I don't see why same material of rims would make a difference weather it is OEM or not. Not using any kind of radar detector or other wireless devices.

You're running aftermarket sensors. They might not be syncing correctly with the car

The fact of the matter is the light was fine after the sensors were installed. Shop drove the car 30 miles, no light. I drove the car home that day and the sensor went on for maybe 2 minutes and turned off. The next day i had a 3 and a half hour trip and once the light came on again for about 3 minutes then went off. No problems after that for about 4 days. Then yesterday coming home the light went on and stayed on. Could not figure it out even after driving 65MPH down the highway for 2 miles. This morning the light was still on. Halfway through my 12 mile commute it went off and stayed off since. So with the light being this intermittent and the tire pressure being fine leads me to believe something in the system is still screwing up in one way shape or form and I want to get down to the bottom of it before i go insane.

To add onto this I did not install them myself. I don't like to wrench on cars myself. I know enough about them to do so but I would rather spend my time doing things I actually want to do and not have to worry about an install going wrong and being down a car. This is why i just have the shop do it. They should know enough about the vehicle they are working on to do the job right in a timely manner.

As stated before this EXACT sensor model was installed to replace a bad sensor before in the steelies and was fine for months on end. no issues. is why i bought the exact one. As the light turned off this morning I have not bothered to take it to this shop as they probably wont find anything anyway if the light is off.

Just because it worked for a while doesn't mean there can't be a problem

This is true. I have a funny feeling the left rear sensor is a dud. Yesterday when the local shop "not the one who installed them" was checking it out with a tire rite 400 meter, The right rear tire didn't read the first time but then read the second time just fine. I fear this is the problem child... I am so sick of brand new items going bad within a matter of days. The labor cost is killing me!

Not very likely as the sensors read 37PSI and the tires are not even a month old.

Go OEM to start and have dealerships do the work. I know s lot of people hate them but they have the right equipment and knowledge

Well after this BS that's what I will be doing. Dealers are always so spendy and I figured with something STUPID simple as a tire sensor a local shop would be able to handle it. If the light comes on again I will probably have the same sensor put in as the other 3 are working but man is this annoying. I do have to get my AC compressor replaced before summer hits... Needless to say this will probably be done by the dealership. just sucks that it's an hour drive to the nearest Subaru dealer for me and the parts are typically 40% more cost as well.

OK this is pissing me off. The TPMS light just came on at the exact same spot in the highway it has done 3 times now. The stretch of highway connecting the town I work in and the town I live in is about 12 miles. The last half a mile on my way home turns to 55. This exact spot is where it turned on today, yesterday, and when the tires were first installed always in the evening hours on my way home. The sensor I suspect is a fricken vampire and only shows its true colors at night. So I can take it back for my money I am going to yank the newest sensor from the old wheel and put it in it's place. I am done buying new sensors. Screw that.
So final game plan here: find steelie with the newest sensor that was replaced not too long ago, bring it with to work tomorrow. Have the shop yank it and put it in place of the new sensor I suspect is bad. Proceed and hope for the best... Damn this is annoying

Have still not had the TPMS checked out. The weather has been substantially nicer then when they were installed and I have not seen the light come on for almost a full week. What are the odds the colder weather was just messing with it?

mine came on intermittently this week ~ then stayed on.

first week its been above freezing ~ touched 50 the day it stayed on. had to actually let some air out, and it stopped coming on.

PV=nrt

pressure goes up with temp

fixed me dropping it down to 34 psig

I actually took a 700 mile round trip this weekend and the light came on once on the way up for about 5 minutes, then went off. Thinking I should make sure my tires are around 36. Think the shop put them up to 38 when it was cold out. I thought the sensors only detected if the psi dropped below 30ish psi and didn't matter if they went above X amount of PSI.

They detect a difference in pressure between themselves. Make sure all your tires are where they should be. Maybe get another tire gauge for a second opinion.

OK so I have been running for a while now dealing with the occasional tpms light. there is a receiver module for the tpms sensors placed either under one of the front seats or under the back seat i believe. The last time the light was on i took it to the shop. The computer tool connected directly to the vehicle read no data from either of the front sensors, yet when the individual sensors were read all 4 of them were displaying the appropriate pressure. I don't know about you folks but this tells me bad receiver. Any thoughts? Should I just spend the money to have the receiver replaced by the dealership?
