Thumbs up maybe im on my period, but this made me tear up

something about the baby's reaction really made me tear up... something about the pure joy, and then the sadness associated with it.

CN: baby hears sound for the first time with an implant.

Good start to the morning. I really hope that we can totally repair sensory defects within the next few years. Between implants, transplants, and stem cell technology no child should be blind or deaf.

How did the mother not cry?

If that was my son I would have been a blubbering mess.

So do I. I was born with a 30dB loss, now around 70 to 90 depending on frequency (and that's only 27 years later). My dad got a cochlear implant. he says it's better than what it was before, but it takes time getting used to everyone/thing sounding like mickey mouse.
