nitrous Bottle pressure
What bottle pressure do you guys have, my pressure seems to be way to low, it is at 620, the guy at the shop I went to said that it should be around 1100 on a new bottle, which mine is. I know that a bottle heater will probably fix this, but I was just curious because my nitrous system is sucking right now. I bumped up the fuel pressure, so now the nitrous seems to be working alot better but still it is not a huge difference. What fuel pressures do you guys recomend My fpr is set at 42 psi, is that to high for stock injectors or is that okay, I do not know what the fuel pressure should be. Thanks

Bottle pressure is more temperature dependent than % full. I would have said decent pressure was around 900 psi. Bottle heaters may well kick that up. My ZEX dry kit bumps the fuel pressure to about 60 psi (<55 shot mode) which is as high a pressure as I am comfortable with. I have no real basis for that comfort conclusion though. Also, if you have a wet kit your fuel pressure will be quite a different situation. Do you have any gauges such as A/F or EGT? I would recommend that you get something to warn of lean running. Otherwise, start known rich, listen carefully for detonation and check your plug condition frequently until things dial in.

I am running a zex 55 shot, I just gteched my car at lunch and I ran a 14.2 at 95.3, so it seems to be working fine now, because of the warmer temperature today my bottle pressure is at 720, I will probably invest in a bottle heater, do you guys think that it would be okay to run a 75 dry shot or would that be stupid, I do not use my nitrous that often so I think that I might risk it and I also can control my fuel pressure so I might think about it what do you guys think.I would like to be able to run high 13s with out going turbo, I know I should have got a wet kit. I almost got the new zex wet kit, but it came out the day that I bought this one so I did not know much about it then.

I have a zex dry kit as well. I would not run more than a 55 shot as it is. I'm waiting on an svx regulator and wrx fuel pump before I run mine with a 65 shot.. plus I need a new clutch and flywheel like yesterday. No worries though the fidanza and exedy will be in her next month

Yea I have the same problem with my Venom VCN-2000 setup.
I usually keep the bottle in side my house just to keep in nice and toasty. But 900-1000 psi is recommended for optimal performance and gains. Even my purge valve wont spray out any N20 to see comming out under or around 600 psi. I need a bottle heater. richie |

N20 bottle Pressure
I was just looking at a Summit Magazine and the "NOS" brand bottle pressure is recommended for 800 psi on a 10lb. bottle. I'm by far not a nitrous expert, but I would assume that the different companies: Nitrous Works, Zex, NOS, Edelbrock, etc. would all have their own recommendations and theories. I might as well learn something here so here is my question: Does the shot you are spraying and the size of the bottle correlate with bottle pressure?
NOS has a NOSzle direct port EFI kit for universal 4 cyl applications for like $943. -Charles- |

Ok well Venom says VCN-2000 system utilizes the stock injectors bye pulse them to use more fuel. But how far can the stock injectors go?, and how about my fuel pump ? VENOM vcn -2000 includes a 02 sensor to detarmine if the car is running rich or lean. And when it tends to lean out to much the system shuts off (hopefully) before detonation , etc. I am running a 30% N20 level. I can boost it up to 100% which equals to a 175 hp shot! Venom also says 40% nitrous = 75-95 shot? So i wish i could find out the real deal.. Now the technical assistance guy from venom was saying dont worry abou to much N20 %. Keep going untill u see the system shuts down. Then u know your limit. I was a little scared to do that so i havent./ But he swears by it. He loves the system and never saw a system like this produce NOS peformance #'s and a little more advanced.. I am very please with it.
let me know what you all think thanks richie |
