WRX stuff --> RS
Hey all
i am picking up a brand new 04' impreza 2.5RS tomorrow , i cant wait but i was wondering... my dad has an 03' WRX and he had H&R springs on his car for a little bit before he went with full coilovers, and i was wondering if those springs would fit/work on my RS?? also would there be any advantage if i installed his stock struts instead of my stock RS struts?? one more thing, he bought new front calipers and rotors, would there be an advantage to install his stock calipers/rotors?? well thanx for any info !! -AJ

As far as I know...only the body changed...not the chasis...so everything should bolt up fine. No difference in which struts u use, as they are the same...if his are already put together with the top hats and everything just use his as its LOTS easier to put a strut assembnly thats put together in.
As for brakes...go for it...you gain about 6" in diameter I believe... Just remember which pads you need when you want to replace them |

If the 04 RS gets the same new suspension as the WRX, you may want to ride in it a bit before you start upgrading it, The 04 WRX suspension is supposed to be pretty nice, between the 02/03 stock suspension and the SPT/STi kit.
As far as the brakes, his stuff will bolt right up, you're all set there. If you have the new suspension, his struts would be a downgrade Also the rear springs are different on the new WRXs (again, I dunno about the RS) and if you want to use aftermarket springs, you have to use the 02/03 strut tops. |
