I'll need to roll the rear before or after the drop? Yay for being a special snowflake

After the drop for sure, before the drop probably. It would likely rub on big dips and when the car is loaded up even on stock suspension.

I'm looking at getting 18x8 wheels for my 2012 wrx on stock height, wondering if a 245/40/18 tire will be too wide for 8" wheel, or should I go 235/40/18?
I am currently running a 235/40 18 with a 9" wide wheel no issues at all...will need to roll the quarters when I lower the car....these are the same wheels I had for my 2009 wrx fenders and quarters rolled with a 2" drop

What's the biggest rim, tire combination you can do on a 2011 wrx without having to roll your fenders and with what offset?? Thanks

Read the thread.

There is no black and white answer, and has too any variables.

That is mostly determined by suspension. The stiffer the coils and the less body roll there is, the closer the tire can get to the fender without rubbing.

Alright, I got some 18x9.5 rims with a +35 offset off another wrx owner! Both of us were on stock suspension, but he had a sedan and I have a hatch! The tires are a 255/40r18 he didn't rub at all, but as soon as I put them on my hatch, the rears rub bad if anyone is in the car, and the fronts rub if I turn too much, what could I do to fix it, I'm going to get the fenders rolled asap, but anything else that might help here? Lowering?

Roll the fenders and more camber. Stiffer suspension helps too.

I heard camber bolts should be able to get me all the camber I'll need, true?

Get the rear fenders rolled. I would avoid rolling the fronts, some extra camber is probably going to take care of any rubbing there. You can adjust front camber with the stock bolt a decent amount.

Right now the fronts are close, but I know it's hitting the fender liners for sure

Default 2012 wrx

Hi.
Just read your article and was seeking your advice.
I have a 2012 wrx sedan. Looking at buying a set of rota grid-r 18"x 9.5 +38 offset.
My car isn't lowered. Will these wheels fit under the guards and if so, what size tyre do recommend without compromising my ground clearance.

I believe the first post would answer the question. But a roll may be required in the rear, for sure if you drop your car any. I would recommend a 255/35. If you do a 265/35 a roll on the rear would be a higher possibility.

Please read the first post, it has your answer. But yes, it works. May want to go ahead and roll the rear to be safe, especially if you get a better tire for that width or go lower on the coils.

Will 255/40/18 on a 18x8.5 +48 fit on my 13 hatch?

I have Springs. Not coilovers..

It'll for but I'd do a 245/40 instead.

Hey guys,
In about 2 or 3 months I will be a proud owner of a 2011 wrx hatch. This is my first post so please bare with me. I'm sure this has already been asked so I apologize for that. My car will be on stock suspension and I'm wondering if I will be able to fit Miro 111's that are 18x9.5 and an offset of +35? they also sell an 18x8.5, so I am wondering with the 9.5 inch wide rims would I have any fitment issues? Because I don't want to roll my fenders or any modifications when I first get it. Also what tire size would you guys recommend? If it won't work please explain why because I know nothing when it comes to rims/tires. Thank you.
