It just looks arbitrary what cars go in which classes and which parts put you into which modified class...

I could care less really. There are almost no c stock cars here so it's club ranking and having fun.
P.S just because you're competitive doesn't mean you're not having fun.

Exactly. A 10lb savings by using a smaller battery (who would even know what size 90% of cars out there came with from the factory anyway. and how many still have that 10-20 yrs later?) is not gonna get ya a real advantage. But yes, wider wheels n more tire, of course that makes a difference. But there are classes for people that want to do things like that.

Actually, while they do get reorganized a lot lately, classing is designed to put cars in groups with other similarly powered/capable competition. And it works well for the most part. The stock levels are the most aligned and it gets a bit more lumped-together as you get way more modified. Heck, look at all the new ST classes and such that have been created over the past decade, just to appease the current generation of tuners. I don't think we need em at all, but there's always the people that need a class to themselves/that they can dominate, so they can get a trophy.

But for the wheel issue, just do what lots of people do. Throw stickier rubber on your stock tires, swap em over to auto-x on, and then swap your street wheels/tires right back on when you're done. Better on the life of your street tires too, as they usually don't endure as well, nor give the performance of a tire meant for auto-x'ing. And used stuff can always be had cheaply for the occasional racer that doesn't wanna spend a bunch on something they do just a few times a year.

what year is this stuff for, I'm sure the heatshield will almost fit everything, but the intake might be a different story. I am interested in the DP Intake and heatshield, LMK how much you want for em, don't say make and offer to me cause I'll say 20 bucks for all three.....

Looking for a few parts if anyone know of any floating around, looking for a 52mm gauge pod to replace dash clock, and a vf34 turbo used...?

The intake is for 08+ wrx/ sti lgt

DP will fit anything Subaru and the heat shield might be sold.

$200 for the intake $175 for DP. $50 for the heatsheild if it's still available (waiting to hear back tomorrow)

But is it a gen2 DP or one for a gen3? those aren't the same are they? thought they had a slightly diff bend to them and were longer?

2nd of all, James, you already have a DP on the wagon? Or is there another subaru at your house now...?

No, I am a Subaru short now, stuff is starting to come along now though..... I do need to roll the rear fenders and figure out why I am consuming oil, I swapped out my PCV valve and we'll see where that goes... It doesn't smoke at start up and the heads are new, so it isn't valve guides, I'm thinking it's blow by because of a stuck PCV valve.... If anyone knows something I don't, let me know...!!!

Nothing cool ever happens in Boise. And crime is worse. And emissions blows floppy donkeys.
Again. Nothing cool.

How bad is your oil consumption James? <Qt every 3k would be about normal for most suby motors...

Cool fun stuff seems to always be happening in Boise! Ya, emissions suck, the main reason I don't move there. I like my emission freedom here in eastern Idaho!

Was pretty sure Boise didn't have emissions testing...

Ada and canyon county both do emissions testing. It's just a sniffer and CEL type.
