290 is invoice for the fogs for Subaru of America. SNE and SDC have different installed costs that I don't have access too. I would bet that is the difference there.

Did those that were told the car is on "hold" ever get a VIN number?

Spoke to dealer today and found out he has a SWP 5 door in transit with nav sts and auto dim mirror. I ordered mine with that plus a number of other options.
I can add those options but dealer would charge more for fees for installation. Plus the dealer will be messing with my new car. I ordered 11/14. And dealer doesn't know eta as it is too early in the process. I was finally able to press the general manager for an order number. I am in NY so I am SDC. He told me order# 17687. Does this sound like a real number. Has anybody called SDC and get any additional info. I'm willing to wait for my car but if I can get it sooner.....SDC contact info? What would you guys do??? I think in leaning towards waiting..maybe... |

Stand your ground. You agreed on a car with a set of options for a certain price. Either they give you the car that's on the way for the price you agreed on, or you wait for yours to come in. Doesn't make sense to me to pay more than you have to and get the exact same thing just a few weeks sooner.

Here's my order: 2013 WRB WRX Premium Hatchback - SPT Exhaust - SPT Short Throw - Homelink mirror - Red Illumination Kit - Wheel Locks However there's a limited WRX hatch in transit with pretty much all those options and a few more. I might talk to my salesman about it tomorrow to see if I can get the car at somewhat a reasonable price. |

Either way it doesn't make sense for him to budge on his agreed upon price for the exact same car just because his is taking too long. Offer them the same price, if they say no, then just wait. |

Allocation is how many cars a dealership can receive. Pretty common sense. And only the dealerships really know those values. Generally, the larger the dealership, the more allocations they get. Some smaller dealerships are already at allocation limits so they take longer to get their cars. I'm not sure if WRX / STi allocation is different from each other.

Yesterday the update from my dealer was to expect the car soon. I emailed them to reiterait some of my requests for when they take delivery of the STI.
-NO tire shine. -No front plate/bumper drilling. -Don't idle the engine for a long period of time. The car showed up on their site recently as "In transit" with a VIN#. So I had them confirm its was my actual car and asked if they now had an ETA. This is the response I got back. "The next step is when it arrives at the port. Once we get a port date then it's usually 7 to 14 days from that date. All we know now is that it's on, or about to go on a cargo ship from Japan. I'll be in touch once I know anything else." ...Seems possible that my car is on the Merridian Ace! Everything for my order has gone very smoothly. I ordered at the end of Sept (29th) and the dealer expected the order to recieve a VON# by the Oct 10th, (It did) and estimated a delivery in Dec. This is all very good for me, considering how small this dealer is, I got a great value for my trade and below invoice price. It was a much better deal at then what I was offered at 2 other Subaru dealers in large cities. 2013 SWP (5 door) Cargo tray, AW mats, Wheel locks, Secuirty sensor, AD mirror w/compass. Ordered: 9/29 (Beard Subaru. Hyannis, MA) Von: 10/10 SNE Allocation Group: 1114 VIN#: 11/19 ETA: (Dec) - Alex |

I thought about that but I really don't feel like removing the white protective plastic because it leaves behind that little residue line. I'm sure the dealer has a better method of celaning the residue off then I could come up with on my own. Not to mention It'll probably be freezing cold weather when I pick up my car. After a week or two of driving I'll probably drop it off at a detailer and have them install tint and give the exterior a proper cleaning and shine.

You forgot the "no Beard Subaru label on the body"
I'm also hoping that my car is on the same ship. I ordered a WRX Limited 4 door on 9-22 and haven't heard anything. |

supposedly my car arrived at port yesterday, which I believe is Maryland.
How long does it generally take to get from port to the dealership? |

Mine came in last week. Ordered middle of August. Wasn't supposed to be here until mid December. Drove it home yesterday. It was smoking like crazy and blew tons of white smoke out after a restart. Dealer said its the coating on the insides of the cat. Besides the burning plastic/rubber smell making my eyes water I love the car. Coming from a 93 rx7 and 09 civic SI. I got the 13 sti 5dr swp, navi, Spt exh, sub, home link mirror, and bumper cover. On cold starts the Spt exh drones like a mother, sounds clean once warm though. Pretty loud inside the car but everyone says the exhaust sounds nice outside. And I can control my subwoofer, don't know what everyone else was talking about.

Ordered my 2013 STI swp w/nav exactly 3 weeks ago today. Just called the dealer for an update and dealer said he has nothing to tell me but to wait a few more weeks. I was also told when I ordered the car that it will take 4-6 weeks for me to get it, but according to what I've been reading here it's gonna take longer than that. I also called SOA and they told me that most likely it would take about 12 weeks for me to get my car ***128532; any suggestions guys? I need some answers cuz I think Ima go crazy waiting!...
